Corridoio Vasariano (Pass by)

As you look out from the Uffizi, you'll see a true marvel of architecture: the Vasari Corridor. This exclusive, private walkway was built for Duke Cosimo I de' Medici, allowing him and his family to move unseen between their government offices in Palazzo Vecchio and their home in the Palazzo Pitti. Your vantage point on the second floor of the Uffizi places you right at the start of its hidden route across the Arno River.

Ponte Vecchio (Pass by)

From the windows of the Uffizi's second-floor corridor, you can enjoy a stunning, privileged view of the Ponte Vecchio, the "Old Bridge." This medieval stone bridge, built in 1345, is famous for the shops built right along its length. Originally home to stinky butchers, a decree by Grand Duke Ferdinando I de' Medici in 1593 replaced them with goldsmiths and jewellers to improve the decorum of the area. This tradition endures, making the bridge an iconic, glittering landmark on the Arno River.
