DAY 1: HANOI – LANG CHUONG – SON BA MUOI TREKKING
Start with a morning pickup from your hotel in Hanoi and head to Lang Chuong Conical Hat Village, a traditional craft village where local artisans make Vietnamese “nón lá” by hand. Meet the makers, learn about the process and try decorating your own hat.
Continue through Xuan Mai and Hoa Binh Province to Son Ba Muoi, a remote highland area at around 1,200m. Check in, enjoy lunch and relax before an afternoon trek through rice terraces, forest paths and rocky streams, passing three Black Thai hamlets.
Visit a local home and learn about “tằng cẩu”, the traditional hair-pinning custom of married Thai women. Discover local farming traditions and everyday mountain life before returning to the lodge.
Enjoy dinner and, if you wish, join your hosts around the fire for local corn wine and a relaxed cultural exchange.
Overnight: Son Ba Muoi | Meals: Lunch, Dinner
DAY 2: SON BA MUOI – PU LUONG – KHO MUONG – BAT CAVE
Wake up early for an optional sunrise above the clouds before breakfast. Then descend towards Pu Luong Nature Reserve, a landscape of limestone mountains, rice valleys and traditional Thai villages.
After checking in and having lunch, set off by motorbike towards Kho Muong Village, riding through rice fields and mountain roads lined with traditional Thai stilt houses.
Stop by the stream to see traditional bamboo water wheels and, depending on the season, watch local farmers working in the rice fields.
Leave the motorbikes behind and trek to Bat Cave. Walk through its impressive limestone entrance and explore the natural chambers, where bats can often be seen overhead.
Return to the lodge by vehicle, relax and enjoy dinner.

Depending on the day and local conditions, choose between visiting Pho Doan Highland Market, where people from surrounding villages trade local produce, or enjoying a gentle bamboo rafting experience on Cham Stream through rice terraces and countryside scenery.
