What you can expect

Day 1: The Heritage Journey & Setting the Traps
Afternoon: History and Slow Living
Pick-up: Your journey begins with a hotel pick-up for a brief introduction to the strategic importance of the Thi Nai Lagoon—the largest saltwater lagoon in Central Vietnam.
Water Exploration: Board a traditional wooden boat to glide across the water while listening to epic tales of ancient naval battles and the secrets of the Champa Kingdom.
Arrival at Con Chim: Arrive at Con Chim Islet. Please note: There are no traditional homestays in this village. You will be staying in simple tents set up on stilt platforms within the mangrove forest. Facilities are basic, including simple shared bathrooms. We advise you to review these arrangements carefully before booking and ensure you bring insect repellent.
Setting the Traps: Join a local fisherman for a hands-on session learning to set nets and “Lu” (bamboo traps), essential for securing your harvest for the next morning.
Evening: Culinary Arts and Night Discovery
Cooking Workshop: Participate in a mini-cooking workshop to master “Banh Xeo Tom Nhay” (Jumping Shrimp Pancakes) and enjoy a seafood dinner as the sun sets over the lagoon.
Night Discovery: Take a guided night stroll along the mudflats with a torch to witness the nocturnal life of crabs and shrimp under the stars.

Day 2: The Harvest & The Rhythm of the Market
Morning: The Catch and Local Trade
The Harvest: Wake up at first light to head back onto the lagoon and pull up the nets and traps you set the previous day.
“Be a Local Seller” Challenge: Learn to sort your catch and use basic Vietnamese phrases to “sell” your fish at a local gathering spot.
Fisherman’s Breakfast: Savour a traditional fisherman’s breakfast of steaming seafood congee made from the freshest catch, followed by a workshop on brewing traditional Vietnamese Phin coffee.

Midday: Farewell and Return
Souvenir: Receive a handcrafted conical hat (Non La) as a souvenir before your boat and car transfer you back to your hotel.
Conclusion: Arrive back at your hotel around midday as the tour concludes.
