Lovely hotel, great location.
Lovely weekend with daughters in Newcastle. Choose to drive and plenty of parking behind hotel was £12 for the weekend. Hotel very warm, difficult to open windows. Excellent room layout for the four of us in 4 single beds. Great spacious bathroom and a super shower. Breakfast was fresh and tasty with a great variety to choose from. Rooms really clean. Hotel is stunning on the inside loads of original Victorian features stunning staircase, chandelier and all very grand. Only disappointment was leisure facilities were not open and we were not notified of this. I would recommend and stay again.

The heating in the room did not work. When I reported it,they said they didn’t know about it. They said they would send someone to look at it and also bring a portable heater. No one arrived. After 30 minutes I rang reception. No one answered the phone. I went to reception and they said they were too busy to answer the phone. I then stayed in reception until some came with me to my room. He couldn’t get the heating to work so had to use the portable heater. I made a reservation for dinner when I checked in. When I went to the restaurant, I Was ignored. I then went to the bar and enquired. No reservation had been made for me. However they found me a table. It is unacceptable that rooms are rented with working heaters. I have now got a cold resulting from being so cold. They should have switched me to another room that had heating that worked. On the plus side the breakfast was excellent, the reception staff were friendly but obviously not efficient( ie not answering the phone)

The Station Hotel lobby has a real feeling of grandeur, and although it fades in places, the hotel is good value with a bit of history. I have stayed a few times, and the only negative I might note was that the quality of rooms seems quite variable, and difficult to predict from the booking. The pool was fine, and the breakfast mega tasty!
