If you are thinking of a last-minute escape, relax! You'll find loads of groovy hotel options in Puako. There are 26 places to base yourself within a 10-kilometre radius of Puako's centre.

Puako isn't known as the hotel capital of the world. It does, however, feature the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel, which you'll find just 3-kilometre from the CBD.

You'd be crazy to come to Puako without seeing the Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park. Accommodation options nearby allow you to choose from the Hale Hoola B&B and Dragonfly Ranch.

A convenient option when spending time in Puako is to stay close to the Hapuna Beach State Park. Just a short drive away are both the Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii and the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, Autograph Collection.

The Castle Waimea Country Lodge is situated 17 kilometres from the heart of Puako. Another hotel is the Paniolo Greens at Waikoloa Village, which can be found 6 kilometres away. Alternative places to stay include the Mauna Lani Terrace Condominium and the Villages at Mauna Lani.

Don't shoot through before you have checked out the Waikola Village Golf Club, Waikoloa Kings Golf Course and Genesis Gallery in Waikoloa. If you'd like to stay in Waikoloa, be sure to check out the Fairways at Mauna Lani and Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Bungalows. Loved the property and the facilities and the personnel. It’s very windy as it is on a hill which is a plus. Wild Turkeys are wondering around which gives it more character. The only downsize it is far from Kona Kailua downtown area and there are not that many dinning options yet that’s not their fault.
