Grumpy

This is a very nice hotel & restaurant with a great hotel general manager who was always happy, hard working & eager to help his guests in both the hotel and the restaurant. The only issues were 1) Hard uncomfortable beds; 2) hearing people go up & down the metal circular stairs outside our room all night long; and 3) a very grumpy male waiter in the restaurant during dinner. The rest of their staff was amazing, but the mean unhappy guy was hard to overlook and probably shouldn't be working in hospitality.

albergo caratteristico e immerso nel verde

L'albergo è poco fuori dall'abitato di Stolberg, immerso nel verde in una zona tranquilla. Data la struttura interna a mezzi piani, le camere non sono tutte di facile accesso, anche se c'è l'ascensore. Gli interni sono molto piacevoli e arredati con uno stile meno 'alberghiero' e più caldo. Le camere sono ben isolate, con materassi ottimi e con davanzali fioriti. Bagno pulito (senza bidet), acqua calda che arriva prontamente nella doccia. Ambiente molto caratteristico nella zona ristorante al piano terra, con una grande stube che fa da punto di contatto tra le varie salette in cui è suddiviso. I piatti sono molto curati e abbondanti, adatti soprattutto per chi ama carne e pesce, ma si può sempre chiedere al gestore (che risponde in lingua inglese o tedesca) in caso si abbia necessità di piatti vegetariani. La colazione è al primo piano, in ambienti molto luminosi e piacevoli, ed è a buffet, molto abbondante e ben fornito sia nel settore salato sia nel settore dolce. Unica pecca, il caffè non è all'altezza del resto del servizio, che è impeccabile. C'è un giardino fuori con tavoli all'aperto e pergolato per le giornate di sole, anche se non si è potuto sfruttarlo a causa delle continue piogge. In conclusione, una struttura diversa da quelle delle catene alberghiere, immersa nel verde, ottima per visitare la vicina Aquisgrana o andare a Colonia, per esempio in treno (stazione dall'altra parte del paese con parcheggio).
