Check in was easy. The location was great. It’s on the main strip so there were so many options to eat within walking distance. The free breakfast is a voucher to eat at the little cafe next door. It says there’s one choice on the voucher but there are actually 6 different meal options once you go in. You can’t find a better free breakfast! Freshly cooked to order! The bed was comfortable. The sheets were clean but the bed cover was not. I usually pull those off anyway but this one clearly should not have been put on the bed. The shower head was old and I prefer an adjustable one but the pressure was great. The towels were tiny and scratchy, so that could have been better. There were multiple channels of HBO in addition to standard cable channels. The TV did not have streaming capabilities. Overall, I feel the value I got was worth the price I paid.

The shower was pretty dirty. The shower curtain had a lot of brown stains splattered over where you would grab it to move the curtain. The tile and tub surround wasn't well maintained. Are you really saving any money by not having the fridge and microwave plugged in when guests arrive? Beds were nice. Room was clean otherwise. It was surprising to have an actual key at a hotel. It wasn't immediately apparent how to lock the door, but it's locked by default and can only be opened with the key.

Decent stay, actual hot breakfast at the restaurant provided, both there and to go. You can walk to the bookstore and cafes down the street. I had the room on the end so I could hear people on the metal stairs, but it was still a good night's sleep for the price.

The free, freshly-prepared breakfast is at the attached restaurant at the motel, and is excellent. Many locals came in for regular paid meals as well. The staff was very pleasant in all the different positions - check-in, hospitality, restaurant, etc. The building is very well-constructed, and much quieter than most modern motels. This is not by any measure a luxury motel, but it is very good for its class. I will agree with earlier reviews that the rooms are not well lighted, however. Brighter LED bulbs and a ceiling lamp would really help. We would stay here again if we come back to the area.

Good for a quick stopover

This room met its purpose as a quick stop between Santa Fe and Denver, allowing us to enjoy a brief stop at the Great Sand Dunes NP. Nothing was exceptional but nothing was terrible. It is a rather old but remodeled property, but it definitely shows its age. I would have a appreciated in-room coffee as I'm and early riser. I will give a shout out to the tasty free breakfast in the adjacent restaurant. It was freshly cooked and much better than a typical buffet found in most economy hotels.

Overrated, Overrated.....

I booked based on the rating. I believe rating was inflated by the diner breakfast. The breakfast was better than most. I paid an additional $3.25 for our upgrades. The mattresses were terrible and the pillows were a joke. The towels should be burned. Spend another $25 and stay somewhere else.
