This cottage is absolutely gorgeous…beautifully decorated with quality fixtures and fittings giving it a very homely feel. It is stocked with everything you could possibly need - even the children’s Wendy house was well stocked with toys! There was a lovely ‘welcome tray’ of cakes shortbread and very welcome beers, Prosecco, soft drinks and a “baby box” with nappies baby shampoo baby bath oil cream etc…such a lovely touch! Colette was most helpful with our requests and checked up on us to see if everything was ok - again a lovely touch making us feel so comfortable. Luss is a real gem of a place and our stay there in this fantastic cottage gave us some wonderful family time together and left us with the feeling that we will definitely be back!

Fabulous 5* Stay

This property is beautiful and has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable & wonderful, luxury stay in picturesque Luss. We stayed for 3 nights with family of 9 and were blown away by the little touches that make this place so beautiful and unique. The host was fantastic with prompt communication and did not hesitate to advise when we had trouble with having no hot water (we all had baths/showers on the first day one after another and washed up by hand and thus used all the hot water not realising it was a tank system - which was unfortunate given how many of us were staying, however, the shower in the blue en-suite room was an electric shower and so has hot water at all times FYI and my advise is don't wash up by hand - use the dishwasher! After this, we didn't have a problem). The huge home-made cake and welcome drinks were a lovely touch too and went down a treat. The kitchen contains everything you could possibly think of. The beds were comfortable and the whole place was spotless and spacious. The mini bar set up in the lounge was a favourite for drinks next to the cozy roaring fireplace and plentiful seating. Would love to return in the warmer months to make more use of the garden area and the 'hidden gem' playhouse in the garden brimming with toys. Cannot fault it, a perfect stay.

Great place to stay!

Needed to stay near to Loch Lomond for a wedding and this house was perfect! Beautifully decorated & good sized rooms (a lot of cushions!!), fab kitchen and lovely bedrooms with great quality linens! Because of the time of year, we didn’t use the garden but it offers so much! All in all, suited our needs perfectly and as described in the description. Thanks for having us!

A heavenly week

This property exceeded all expectations. There was space to be together and take time out. Everything we needed was there. The setting was beautiful and the property a joy inside and out. Communication with the owner was excellent. It was the perfect setting for a very special family occasion.

What an amazing time we all had at The Strone. Colette was amazing the house was immaculate and everything we needed or wanted was supplied for us! All the luxury touches were fantastic. Each and every one of us thought it was sensational. Will deffy be back in the nicer weather to make full use of the garden. Highly recommended!!!

A beautiful house in a beautiful place. Thoughtfully equipped and a pleasure to stay in. Lots of positives. Having been expected to pay for logs it was clear you build in costs for weekly flower delivery seems more useful to forget the flowers and build in costs for logs instead. Towels small and not so absorbent. Couldn’t find guide to house and facilities anywhere- eg the whereabouts of said logs, recycling- some basics. Anyway, small niggles that didn’t spoil the experience.

Fabulously charming home in Luss!

The Strone was an amazing home in the heart of Luss. What charm and luxury! Colette was very responsive and so was Christine. We had a wonderful time for our mother's 80th birthday. Everyone in our party was very impressed...will make sure to come back toThe Strone when we visit Scotland again.

Ideal sanctuary

The location couldn’t be better - in the middle of everything but completely removed from the very busy town. The grounds are beautiful and amenities inside and out are top notch. While the home is well appointed it is also comfortable. Our family of four adults had everything we needed and there were many lovely surprises and welcome gifts that made our stay special. The kitchen was the most well stocked kitchen of any home we’ve rented in the past 20 years. Collette was very responsive and accommodating. The bathrooms were delightful with most having rain showers and the master being a spa like experience. The only down side for us was the master bed was extremely firm. All the other bedrooms were well appointed and had a medium level of firmness that was perfect. Colette provides wood for indoor and outdoor fires which were wonderful. The home is a short walk to the general stores and to lovely restaurants. We couldn’t ask for a better central location or home to stay in.

Five star house in a beautiful village

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Colette's house in Luss. We were made very welcome on arrival and the house was a wonderful mix of modern facilities and traditional décor in keeping with the listed building. It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Although Luss is a little busy in the daytime with tourists as it is a beautiful village, it is easy to get away from the crowds on the ferries across the loch or walking from the village. There is a choice of good restaurants and cafes and it makes an excellent base to explore Loch Lomond, Loch Long and the Trossachs. Although the weather was not good enough to use the garden when we were there, there are is a barbeque, tables and chairs set in a tranquil and beautiful garden for long summer nights. We thoroughly recommend Strone House for a couple or much larger group.

Wonderful 5+ holiday home

The Strone is in the centre of Luss village, plenty of parking with everything you could possibly want for a comfortable, luxurious stay. Exceptionally clean, well equipped with so much charm and character. 10 of us stayed and there was plenty of room for everyone. Everything is state of the art from the Sonos speakers, porcelanosa shower, bikes for all ages and boats for the more adventurous. So much to do around and about and if the weathers bad, the house has plenty on offer. We will definitely book here again, we all fell in love with it x

Fantastic, luxury with a warm welcome

Can’t praise this property highly enough. Enjoyed a three night stay there recently with friends. Beautiful home in a stunning location. The unexpected welcome of cake, cava and sweets helped get the weekend of to a good start .

Stunning property in an amazing location ! Definitely has the wow factor!

Our stay was booked as a treat for family we had visiting from Australia and this property certainly didn’t disappoint! With age groups ranging from 9 to 73, everyone was catered for and the attention to detail was second to none. Sheer luxury and so relaxing - just wish we could have stayed longer! Will definitely be booking a return trip.

Beautiful, cozy, well-equipped property!

We visited Luss in late June and enjoyed a couple days at this unique and very enjoyable property. It combines the best of a vacation property (hotel elegance and quality) and a tasteful, welcoming home. The owner has wonderful taste, and I enjoyed the sophisticated yet cozy cottage feel. We have two young daughters who enjoyed the well cared-for garden with its flowers, swing set and play house. My parents and husband and I loved the comfort, space, and privacy the house offered. The house was a great place to cook meals--the kitchen is amazingly well-equipped with nice touches like pretty tea pots and cups, as well as good cookware. We loved having breakfast in the dining room overlooking the garden. The coffee maker is very nice and took a bit of figuring out but provides freshly ground coffee on demand with such ease. This was a welcoming place for rest and relaxation during our tour of Scotland. Loch Lomond is beautiful--we might recommend taking the time to drive around to Balmaha as an easy outing if you want to experience the quieter side of the lake. That said, Luss is charming, the lake is lovely, and this house was a fantasy vacation property for our family. We recommend it highly.

Absolutely Perfect Holiday Rental

This could not have been a more perfect place to stay, from the location to the details to the home itself, we loved it so much! Colette thought of everything and there was nothing we needed that we couldn't find - the outside space was spectacular and our children loved the swingset, the play house, the hidden tire swing, the bikes, and the table tennis. The rooms were beautifully decorated and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. The location right in the middle of Luss was fabulous, and we loved exploring the village after all the day tourists left! I would recommend this to anyone and we hope to return someday!
