Very nice hotel - the only problem is that it has hot and there’s no ac so we had the windows open. The bar outside was quite noisy until quite late.

This hotel was incredibly charming and wonderfully decorated. The beds are so comfortable and accommodations perfect in the biggy bunk room! The bunk bed would be incredibly comfortable for grown adults! The AC didn’t work very well as it is an older building and we couldn’t leave windows open because Amsterdam doesn’t sleep! I loved hearing laughter though of people enjoying themselves! The hotel is super close to a tram stop and we walked or trammed the entire time we were there! Amsterdam was nothing but awesome for our family. You can train all over the Netherlands within 40 minutes and with the tram to Amsterdam centraal 10 minutes away we got to see a lot! Loved the Hoxton Lloyd!!!

Friendly staff, nice hotel

The hotel is super nice, the staff was very friendly. Bed comfy, lovely bathroom/shower. Reason why it wasn't 5 out of 5 is the noise. I was in a room under the roof and there was a constant loud noise - sounded like a washing machine on spin next door. It was impossible to fall asleep without earplugs (which the staff very kindly provided). I'll definitely stay there again but wouldn't want the same room again.

Loved this hotel!!! The staff were accommodating and pleasant. The rooms were spacious, clean, and inviting. It's conveniently located close to restaraunts, public transportation, and various stores. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind after our travels discovering the beauties of the Netherlands!

Nice hotel, few things to improve on.

We booked through Hotels.com and had a complete cost which included all city taxes (paying the whole amount on arrival). This seemed to cause some confusion for the check-in clerk who wanted to charge the city tax again, and had to get a manager to discuss and explain. This delayed our check-in. On checking in we were asked whether we would like housekeeping during our stay which we agreed we would like; unfortunately this never happened during our stay and we had to request clean towels etc from reception. Our room was right next to the elevator which was noisy; particularly as our stay included a Saturday night and many people coming and going. Overall, a really nice hotel and we probably would stay again, however we would be mindful to ask for a different room location.
