Today is our last day at Cocobay for our honeymoon trip. It was an amazing week long trip. We stayed in a room with a plunge pool, bath tub and outdoor recliners called Loblolly Cay. It felt very private without being too far of a walk. We’d recommend Cocobay for any honeymoons or couple trips. This isn’t the place to bring your single friend. I want to tell every couple I know to visit Cocobay Antigua.
We got some amazing souvenirs from Norma on the beach and rode jet skis with Robin on the cocobay beach.
I would say Cocobay is very different from the typical Mexico all inclusive. This resort is not for everyone. Most people spent a lot of time alone and you didn’t see many large groups hanging out. Also, there are no pool bars and only a couple pool/beach side servers. Additionally, there are no buffets so meal service is slow paced and plan for an hour at breakfast/lunch and 2 hrs at dinner. The food was very good and lots of variety. If you don’t like your meal, there were simple burgers you could order to go. Other small items - wear bug spray. We got a couple bites each and we were very vigilant. Some peoples legs were ate up. And wear lots of sunscreen and sun shirts. The sun is intense even in the shade. Also the bar shuts down at 10:30 but you can get drinks for your room if you show your appreciation and ask nicely. We love Cocobay and will be back.
