This hotel is somewhat of an enigma. I want to first of all state clearly that all of the front desk staff with whom I interacted were incredibly kind and welcoming. Decorations were festive. It is clear that there have been some renovations going on. Our room was adequate and nicely decorated, but I can't honestly say that the room was well-cleaned. I would have rated the stay higher except for my experience at the breakfast. The selection and space were fine. However, the hygiene standards were greatly lacking. Of course, I can't know exactly how long, but it looked as though the inside of the microwave hadn't been cleaned in some time. In addition the outside of the trash can was dirty, and the some of the food seemed that it had been out for too long. It is true that you get what you pay for, but there are other good, affordable options if you don't need to stay in Grayson.

We were supposedly "upgraded" but put on the 2nd floor where they are renovating and you can smell the cleaning fumes. Didn't notice at first because we were so tired and ran out to get food. But once settled in saw how room was halfway under construction - dirt around base of toilet - because it was being fixed* Ran most of the night. TV had but 10 channells, Fridge was dirty, cracks in tile around shower (NEW TUB though) - but was not bathing there** Couch in Room looked filthy Overall not a restful sleep - but were exhausted* Coffee in morning was nice - to get our day started* STAFF nice - but completely out of touch of what rooms to use** would have moved but again exhausted* In middle of upgrade so give it a couple months**

The stay was fine. There was an issue with the TV. The staff took care of it and the hair dryer was broken. The room was small but clean. The breakfast was the normal breakfast faire but we got there after 8 and I don't think anyone checked on things after they were put out. We settled for a bagel. It was an inexpensive stay so it was good for the price.
