This is the most active area of the city, so if you are looking for a silent apartment - this is not the place. All Athens is noisy but this apartment is in the main activity centre of Athens with restaurans and bars on the streets down from the apartment.
Going up to the roof is from iron stairs outside the apartment. The roof is common for this apartment and 1 neighbour apartment, so it is not totlly privet (though they are always never go up...)
