Clean Room with Aircon

Did not use the pub or restaurant but the hotel was clean and warm. Air con for the summer in the room is a good option also.

An ok one night stay.

We had a one night stay on the 6th july probably the first day of hotel opening to the public. Pleasantly surprised at efforts to keep social distancing etc. We enjoyed our meal that evening and the staff were very friendly and welcoming despite the masks etc. I asked for a room with a shower which was probably a mustake as we were given a disabled room and hubby fancied a soak but for one night didnt bother to change it. There was no phone in the room nor instructions on how to use the coffee machine and had to also go the one way system back to reception to ask for milk which also had been forgotten. The biggest problem was the outside arc light which flashed every two seconds straight into the bedroom after dark and which the two sets of blinds didnt not cover the sides of the windiw. It woke us up at 1pm with the flashing but we did not feel like getting up and dressed to complain. If there was a phone we could have called reception. On mentioning it to reception next morning all we got was sorry which left us a little disgruntled. Breakfast was good.

Check out time on Sunday is 10am yet breakfast does not finish until 11am. Particularly poor arrangements for a weekend. For a newly refurbished hotel rather unremarkable and certainly overpriced for a nights stay without breakfast. Rather a shame really.

Overnight stop

An overnight stay before heading on to Banham Zoo and then a week in Norfolk. We arrived at 6.30p and were shown our room. We had our granddaughter with us so had requested the sofa bed made up on arrival which it was. Having not eaten we headed down to the restaurant where we had a lovely evening meal. The restaurant was busy but the service was prompt and attentive and the food absolutely delicious. A perfect place for an overnight stop

Lovely place to stay and ignore the old reviews!

The Breckland Lodge is a great place to stay. I read some previous reviews and they were mixed e.g. comments about synthetic bedding etc. What a load of rubbish! The room I had was spacious with the most comfortable bed and a real 'wush' shower. I had food from the bar menu sitting outside in the sunshine and it was one of the nicest lasagne I have ever had. All the staff were friendly and super helpful and if I am in that area again I would stay there again.

We loved staying here last year but had a premium room which was fantastic This time we tried a standard room which left a little to be desired . The ‘rain shower’ head was just screwed to the ceiling and it could not be adjusted meaning ...if your’e a man it’s fine but if you’re a female and just want to freshen up before dinner without getting your face wet and just touch up your make up ( shower cap supplied) it’s impossible as you can’t move out of the way of the shower . It’s such a small space. Even my man commented on the fact he couldn’t move about under the shower. We were asked if we wanted a table for dinner but the earliest was 8pm . We went to the car & the bar staff were so nice & friendly . We got to the restaurant with a bit of our drinks left from the bar and we’re shown to our table but not a very friendly person . We waited and waited and waited after deciding on carvery . I really wanted some iced water but no one came. We eventually got up to go to get some food and I had to say to the nearest waitress... ‘ is it ok to just go up to the carvery as no one has been to our table’? She said yes if that’s what you want There was a bit of a queue forming but expected with carvery . The chef was so nice but looked worn out. The food was lovely . Eventually a young waiter came to table & I asked for some water which we got really quickly . We didn’t bother with more wine as by then we were a bit disappointed with service. We had to ask for the bill.

Overall very happy stay just what was required for our trip, the staff very friendly and helpful. The only thing we had a small issue with was the hard pillows, but as we never asked for them to be changed we will never know if they had any softer.

A lucky choice

very convenient for a family wedding reception at the garden centre 100 metres up the road. We enjoyed our stay with a good room, carvery dinner, and breakfast.
