Palm Beach Lodge

Palm Beach Lodge was built around 1991, originally as a conference venue with guest accommodation. It is a complex of three spacious, comfortable Mediterranean style apartments, occupying four different levels of the Lodge. One is a 4 bedroom apartment and two are a 2 bedroom apartments. The building is situated on the hillside in the center of beautiful Palm Beach on the warm northern coastline, and there are ‘dress circle’ views from just about every single room in the entire building!

Little Barrier Island is visible on the horizon, the islands of the ‘Noises’ and ‘Tiri Tiri Matangi’ are to the left, Nani Island to the right and in the foreground Palm Beach is invitingly close with the sound of the sea ever present.

The zig-zag path winds down through the lush, sub-tropical garden to the road below and then the sandy beach – an all-tide, safe swimming beach. The walk to the water’s edge takes about three minutes in all.

During off season we offer three nights for the price of two from 1st May until 30th September. We also offer 7 nights for the price of 5 during the period 1st May to 30th September.

Wonderful situation. Cleanliness level not the highest eg dead insects behind pulled blinds, grime on arms of cane furniture. Oven failed. Screens needed for some windows for mosquitoes were a serious problem. One bedroom door would not shut so had to be locked. See attachment which have gone to the host

Very mixed review

The setting is spectacular and could be wonderful. But the property is very badly in need of renovation and care: Broken/ missing door handles, overflowing and smelly septic tank, blood on the sheets, missing keys, flooding washer, bathroom tap that didn’t work, blind fell down due to improper fitting. Richard and Sharonagh were responsive to our complaints—I think they may just be overwhelmed by all the repairs that should be done.

Wedding weekend bliss.

We loved our stay. Richard, our host, was amazing to work with and delightful on meeting him. The spaces are stunning, location sublime and views out of this world. The beds super comfy and everything we needed was there. It is old and tired, with a couple of things needing repair but didn't bother us in the slightest.

Great property for our party of 14. Very well equipped with lots of space to cater for all ages. The views from every room are out of this world. Our only complaint is the switch tripping so whilst using any kitchen appliance we had to turn the heating off. Thank you

Great location to Palm beach and so much room for everyone to have their own space. A little dated with a slight leak coming through the roof on the last day, but overall a great place to stay!

Perfect location

Lodge was perfect for our big group of 16 people. Property was clean although slightly dated. Easy walk down to Palm Beach and glorious views. Every room was big, spacious and private and noise doesn't seem to travel which is great. Our only disappointment was the lack of basic necessities - we ran out of toilet paper on the second day and there was only 1 dish washing tablet supplied for our three night stay. Other than that, great stay.

60th Birthday Clebration

With family and friends coming from all over NZ the Lodge was an amazing place to gather at, plenty of space for everyone, excellent kitchen facilities, spectacular views and easy access to the beach front. Richard was wonderful to deal with, very helpful and full of good advise. It was central to all the activities planned. Will return another time, maybe when it is warmer to make the most of the amazing decks and views.

Perfect location lots of space for 16 people great communication

Lots of room to move. Nicely set out in 3 units giving the privacy needed to do your own thing with a group of 16 but able to all join together in the main areas. All facilities were available that you needed for a weekend away. Lovely quiet location with a few minutes to all shops. We had 3 van size vehicles and we all were able to turn around and park on the drive way. Would recommend this property and go again if available. Thank you Richard for a great place our teachers really enjoyed their weekend away
