We checked in and unfortunately the first room we were given wasn’t finished. Lights hanging out of the roof mirror on the floor. Went to reception and was told we would need to wait an hour. Told the manager we needed to get ready for a function, gave us free breakfast and found a room quickly. Good work. However in the room the tracks for the drapes didn’t cover the whole window. Maybe opened a week early. Quality checks not done by the looks. Nice hotel and good location. Just need to iron out the issues

Hotel was only open for a week when we stayed there. A few minor items were quickly fixed. The Asian neighborhood allowed us to eat great food and be near the Art Gallery.

I had booked a different hotel near the harbour and changed to this one because I love the style of this chain of hotels. I did, initially, regret my decision as the area was going through quite extensive upgrade. It was close to loads of places to dine out and pick up a meal/snack. Close enough to main shopping area and the attractions. I had booked a junior suite and was disappointed as the room lacked the character I was expecting. Although it was clean and decorated in signature style it was long and the sitting area felt like being in a fastfood chain. I requested to be moved to a different room and was accommodated in a corner room(which would have been cheaper than my original booking) with a bath and felt much more like what I was expecting. The staff were lovely, my freshly prepared breakfast was delicious and the the hotel is immaculate.

Brand new hotel & therefore had glitches but I suppose that was reflected in the price paid for a junior suite. There was building work going on while we stayed there, which set the fire alarm off & meant a walk down the stairs from 13th floor onto the back street, & since that entrance wasn’t open, meant a lot of guests had to walk thru the streets in their pyjamas. There isn’t enough wardrobe space for anything other than a few nights stay. The TV didn’t work properly & kept displaying sound subtitles (for blind) with no off button. There was a constant drone from the lift maintenance room which could only be blotted out by running the air con all night, which was noisy in itself. There was nothing staff could do about this issue, so if possible book a room away from the lifts. WiFi glitchy but worked effectively when it connected to devices. The night light by the bed comes on if you move the duvet too much whilst sleeping - we just taped the sensors. Great bathroom, loads of room, partition off seating area, fabulous staff.

Well appointed room on the tenth floor. The only let down was we had an evacuation order. And when the staff eventually arrived with the evacuation chair they hadnt a clue how to use it. Nearly threw my partner down the stairs head first. Thankfully we didnt burn to death. So if your disabled or have limited mobility dont book a suite. Unless its on the 2nd floor.

Lovely new hotel. Check in was a bit time consuming, and they had to charge a bond to my credit card - not just a hold or pre-authorisation, but an actual charge. It was refunded on checkout, but still seemed strange. Bed was comfortable, pillows were great, shower very good, nespresso machine with decaf pods, etc etc. Would definitely stay again.
