My wife and I had a truly memorable stay at Pousada Cabana Nativa Paraíso, largely thanks to the incredible staff and the fantastic local food. Ornella absolutely needs to be highlighted for the immense care and positivity she showed our tour group. She completely made the jungle feel like home and was so gracious in helping us fumbling foreigners connect with the locals. Her partner, Tião, worked incredibly hard as our guide and went above and beyond to explain the deep wonders of the Amazon to us. They are a fantastic team and we hope they have a very bright future ahead! A++ for both of them. To top it off, the meals provided were excellent and gave us a great taste of the local cuisine. ​As for the lodge itself, it's worth noting that the rooms have zero sound dampening. You will hear absolutely everything from your neighbors, which felt a bit like sharing a single room. We expected some of this being out in the jungle, but it's good to know going in. We also felt very rushed out during checkout to accommodate a large incoming group. Overall, a mixed facility experience saved by an elite, world-class guiding team and wonderful food!
