About this property

Half-timbered house from 1677 at Bacharach walls

You’ll be staying in an apartment that’s part of a historic half-timbered house dating back to 1677, right next to the city wall of Bacharach. The view from every window is unique: vineyards, Stahleck Castle, and the valley stretch out before you. The stream beside the house flows gently, while the old slate walls surround you protectively.

The small living room invites you to linger—here you can sit back and enjoy the special atmosphere. The historic half-timbered beams and lovingly restored details create a warm, inviting ambiance. Each room tells its own story, blending traditional charm with modern comfort.

The house is situated directly on the historic city wall and offers you a retreat with character. From here, you can enjoy the view of the surrounding vineyards and the majestic castle that towers over the town.

The Werner Chapel, a landmark of the Rhine Romanticism era, is nearby. Visit the Karl Heidrich Winery for relaxed regional cuisine or Stüber’s Restaurant for fine dining. The Günderodehaus, just an eight-minute drive away, offers spectacular valley views and regional specialties. In summer, the terrace at the Grüner Baum invites you to linger.

What an amazing experience to stay in a historic house like this! Everything in Bacharach is walkable and this house is close to everything. It's notable that it was 90 degrees outside and still cool on the inside due to the old school constructing methods. It was wonderful staying here and we would highly recommend it.
