Begin your trip with a stop at the Shwezigon Paya, an opulent 12th-century temple gilded in gold leaf and sculpted with large stupas. Getting to & Around Bagan

Bagan flights arrive at Nyaung U Airport, a small air terminal that is 10 kilometres from the city centre. Direct trains run from Bagan to Yangon and Mandalay, while regional buses provide a cheap way to travel around the city and suburbs.
