Situated in the middle of a river, and within walking distance of just about everything in Bamberg, the hotel is the perfect location. It's also clean and well-designed, and the staff are very attentive. Overall, we had a great stay.

Great location

Location couldn't have been more idyllic confusing check in, very hands off/ automated hotel which is good for convenience but might lack staff occasionally. Confusing room clean that didn't change the dirty sheets. You leave no sign outside to get room cleaned.

Sure. It was OK.

The hotel was fine. The pillows being comforters folded in pillow cases was a bit odd and the restaurant staff wasn't great - but in general the bed was fine and the hotel was clean (albeit a maze). Parking cost 13 euros at a nearby garage..

Pros: beautiful location, right in the old town and on the water. You can walk everywhere. The room is good sized and has everything you need. Cons: There is a restaurant next door, with a terrace right next to the windows (if your room is on the street side) , so you might get some noise at night. Although when we were here, the terrace was not open, but there were people talking on the street at 11pm and you could hear everything even with the windows closed. Tip: if you drive, don't use Google for directions to the hotel to drop off your luggage (hotel has no parking, but parking garage is nearby). Google directed us to a super narrow street and could barely back out). Call the hotel when you get close.

Great location and Excellent view!

It was a wonderful experience! Great location and views in Old down town on the river. Just open your windows and you can hear the river. Close to local restaurants and pubs. The breakfasts were top notch. We will go back!

Good location not far to walk into the old town for your Smoked Beer. We stayed over the weekend its very busy and our room overlooked the front where there is a Brau haus so was a bit noisy, not the hotels fault. Our room was the first along the corridor and the door was left to bang itself close as other guests arrived back. Yes would use again but ask for a room the other side of the building

Outstanding location in the pedestrian friendly old town center with many shops and restaurants closeby. Hotel is on the river and has excellent views including from our room. Histroical front facade. Nicely renovated and clean. Coffee shop had good coffee and excellent local deserts like Lebkuchen (gingerbread), Kurbis-Walnuss (pumpkin-walnut-cream cheese-cake), and Preiselbeer-Baiser (berry filled pie shaped cake with a merrangue topping). We parked in the big underground municipal lot under the garden-park in front of the turist office - a 5 minute walk. The helpful coffee shop waitress suggested a small local pub nearby (name: Kachelofen) on the way to the castle, cozy with loads of character and delightful local and traditional German dishes. Highly recommend.

Wonderful location, great room, and excellent, friendly staff. Restaurant Eckert attached also very good. Would stay here again anytime. Best place I've stayed in Germany in my 30 years of travel there. sad when I had to leave.
