Ideal for that longer layover
Pros:Price and proximity to the airport. Free shuttle. Staff spoke excellent English.
Location:Close to airport, about 5 minutes. Lots of food stalls nearby.
Our group of two couples were facing a 15 hour layover at the airport and our old bones could not handle sleeping on benches. And we needed a shower before another seven-hour flight home.
The price and proximity of Mariya, and the free shuttle) were the attractions, as was the presence of many places to eat nearby.
The rooms were big and comfortable, once we cranked up the air-conditioner, and we rested, had showers, and met downstairs for dinner. We had all been to Bangkok before and, although had arrived from Seoul, had light clothes to wear in the tropical heat.
We booked wake-up calls so that we could leave by 5a.m. and managed a good night's sleep.
The snack bar downstairs, with juice and coffee, and fruit was a nice feature for those of us leaving in the early hours of morning.
We were on the fourth level in a hotel without an elevator. The staff will help with heavy luggage if that's an issue (we travelled very light).
Older travellers should ask for a low floor.

Quiet, clean and convenient
Pros:The room and lobby decor, convenient location
Shuttle bus from airport arrived within 15 minutes and the drive to the hotel was about the same. Staff were pleasant and efficient. Lobby area and room had nice decor. Didnt try the restaurant because of my late arrival and early departure. Would stay again if transiting through Bangkok
