I found cockroaches twice in the salad at the breakfast buffet. I had paid for a deluxe room - I was transferred to a standard room because of hot water problems. I found the rooms unattractive and in need of renovations. The shower areas were gritty. I will not stay at the Emerald Hotel again M.S.

Great old style hotel, comfortable and convenient. I have stayed at the Emerald Hotel 4 times, it used to be excellent but I guess the management is different now. I primarily come to Bangkok for dental work, and BIDC is virtually 2 blocks up the road, and a huge mall a little walk up the road. Public trains city transport is 1/4 mile walk from the hotel.

the carpet was dirty on the corridor and the breakfast place. Staff was unfriendly at the checkin. At checkout was everything perfect. Our room was dark and looked directly onto another house.
