Fine apartment, terrible communication
The apartment is fine. It had two bedrooms and two bathrooms and plenty of space. There’s construction in the next door apartment and the apartment above, so if you like to sleep in after 8:00 it’s really noisy. Also, the windows are single panes, so you can hear street noise all night. The beds are comfy and the rooms are a good size. It’s minimally equipped, you have enough kitchen equipment to eat breakfast. The communication with the property manager was really bad. They sent us last minute communication threatening that we couldn't stay in their home, and it took me a full day of my vacation to resolve this issue. Throughout they were slow to respond, kept replying in Spanish after I had clarified that I do not speak Spanish, and wouldn't respond to any email or chat after 5:00 pm. Once we got to the key pickup spot (they failed to mention that it was a 10 minute cab ride from the apartment) the instructions they provided to pickup the keys did not work. I contacted the host via chat, waited 1/2 an hour on the street, and finally found an after hours (it was 6:00) support number. I figure I spent 7 hours of my vacation just ensuring that we actually had a place to stay on Barcelona.The actual apartment was fine, if dated and noisy, and the location was wonderful.
