The rooms are very small, with no view to speak of; the breakfast was good, but very expensive unless for some reason it's covered (it wasn't in our case). Taxis sometimes balk at driving all the way to the hotel, as it's situated in a narrow Gothic Quarter street. On the other hand, you're right in the middle of the Quarter, steps from the Cathedral, and close to restaurants, shops, plaza, etc.

This is a great hotel in a great location. The Metro is 5 minutes away, many great shops and restaurants are a short walk away. The staff were great, the rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast is superb. If there is a downside, it can be quite noisy in the evenings outside, but thats the price you pay for a superb location.

Good hotel in Gothic Quarter

Raco del Pi is a decent, affordable hotel located in the Gothic Quarter. My 15 year old son and I stayed there for a week over Christmas. The rooms are small but serviceable. The breakfast was limited but helped us get a solid start to our day. We liked the afternoon coffee and sweets in the lounge. We made many simple meals in our room using the small fridge and desk. (The room service is offered from an offsite company and is very expensive. I'd skip it.) Because it was situated in a pedestrian only area, taxis will drop you off many blocks away. When you are tired from travel, this is a little rough. Thankfully Google maps was able to help us navigate the maze of streets to find it. The hotel is well situated near many shops, restaurants, markets, and museums. After a few days, we got pretty familiar with the main routes to the Metro, the grocery store, etc. If you get a room facing the inner courtyard, you don't get a view of the city, but it is likely much quieter. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and the location is hard to beat. I would stay there again.

Every member of staff was friendly and helpful. Good location with a near straight walk (700m) to the Placa de Catalunya where you can get a bus or metro to almost any part of the city. Or you. An walk around and explore from the hotel door!

After researching for 1st time in Barcelona, I’m so glad I found this gem, perfect location in the heart of Gothic Quarter!
