We had a very good stay -- special kudos to the very nice lady who checked us in and the night bartender at the lobby bar who went out of his way to heat up some food we brought from the outside. It's what you expect from staff at a brand like the Hilton. Our room was also very good -- clean, quiet and very comfortable. The one very big blemish involved the male host working the breakfast room on Dec. 30. The night before, I left my jacket at the hotel lobby bar. The next morning I checked with the front desk staff, who asked me to inquire with the host of the breakfast buffet while she searched the lost and found. The host could not have been ruder. He told me he didn't have time to check for my coat and told me to ask the front desk. When I told him the front desk had ask that I check with him, he again rudely told me he didn't have time to help me. While this exchange was taking place, the front desk staffer appeared with my coat. She had heard the exchange and told me she was informing her supervisor. But I was never offered an apology or anything close to that even though I had supplied my room number (1123), During my professional career, I stayed at Hilton hotels hundreds of times and never experienced this kind of poor service. This incident won't keep me from staying again at a Hilton, or even this particular Hilton. My experience at Hiltons have been 99.9 percent good or better. But I'm still a bit shocked at the treatment I received and the lack of follow-up.
