The best part of the hotel is its location - very hard to beat. I was shocked to be assigned a room with no usable window. While it was changed for day 2, I thought it should have been made clear with the booking.

Great location. The lobby is unwelcoming and shabby furniture. Staff was efficient but not warm. Bathrooms were great and remodeled. Room furniture needs an upgrade. Only hotel I stayed in in over 2 weeks that did not have coffee pot coffee/ tea and full size containers of soaps shampoos etc.

The building has lovely details but everything came from a place of "no." We asked for ice - sorry, ice machine broken, come back later; asked for towels - sorry, no towels available until the afternoon - wine glass? No (even though there's a restaurant and bar onsite). No washcloths, tiny bar of soap, no conditioner. They did set up a taxi for us to take us to the train and we liked the balcony. Hair on the bathroom floor at check-in and grout needs cleaning.

The hotel was clean and beautiful and our room was well appointed, spacious with comfortable beds. The location was terrific with proximity to shopping, restaurants, transportation and sites. There was a small mix up where Expedia pictured our room with a balcony, and there wasn’t one, but we still liked our room. Unfortunately, the front desk staff were not particularly friendly, especially the male evening staff member. His affect was ‘bothered’ and he was borderline rude to any guests approaching the desk. We do travel often, and this was not typical Hotel Customer Service behaviour.

The hotel is exactly as represented in the pictures. Beautiful, quaint, historic. Spacious room, comfortable beds. Staff was very helpful in helping us find local points of interest and arranging for transportation to the airport.
