Very Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the Price I was very disappointed with my stay at Hotel Nouvel. The room had a strong, unpleasant smell, like mode which made it uncomfortable. The bathroom didn’t even have a rack or shelf for toiletries—I had to bend down to the floor just to get the shampoo. The room itself was very small, definitely not what I expected for the price I paid. On top of that, they wanted to charge extra to use the security box that was already in the room, which felt unreasonable. There were no conveniences or comforts provided—absolutely nothing in the room to make the stay pleasant. Overall, I felt like the hotel was not interested in offering a good experience to their guests. I would not stay here again and do not recommend it. --- Let me know if you'd like a shorter or more detailed version.

Good location, one bad staff person

Great location close to restaurants & shops. Room was small but good for us. Our room was on 2nd floor but then we had to drag bags up another flight which was unexpected. Breakfast was good and price excellent. We had an issue with one front desk staff person who was very rude & caused us to lose a booking. She refused to give us contact for the manager. We saw her respond to another guest in the same manner. It left us with a bad memory of an otherwise good stay.

The hotel and staff were great. The breakfast was terrible. In a city with so many outstanding restaurants don’t eat powdered scrambled eggs at the hotel. They were inedible. Sorry to say since the hotel was great.

To start our trip to Spain with four days in Barcelona at the hotel Nouvel was fabulous . The Gothic quarter was endlessly interesting and walkable for Sagrada Familia . Friendly , clean it was a delight to stay there and would not hesitate to recommend it.

It's a very nice, old art deco hotel situated close (a couple of blocks) to La Rambla and Catalunya Plaza, the latter of which is a transportation hub, making it an excellent base for exploring Barcelona by foot and metro and for easily getting to and from the airport. They have a rooftop solarium, which we imagine was quite nice, but it was closed at 10 PM when we tended to return to our room, so we didn't see it.

Staff were OK - didn't give us the wifi password, so we had to go ask for it. Room was great - beds were super comfortable. Bathroom was fine - no kleenex to be found anywhere. We had the windows open for fresh air and to cool the room down - the area was very noisy - they pick up the trash around midnight; one night a man was screaming at everyone walking by all night. Was in a good location as it was very walkable. Easy walk to the market in the Ramblas, the Barcelona Cathedral, restaurants, shopping, etc. For the price, would stay here again.

This is a very nice boutique hotel. We felt we were in Spain and not some transplanted American franchise. Location is terriffic. Tons of dining and shopping within a few steps. Staff were very accommodating and friendly.

Excellent location in the middle of the prime tourist spot of Gothic quarters on Las Ramblas Ave - 5 mins from Placa de Catalunya and Barcelona Cathedral. Tons of food and shopping options within 5-10 mins walking distance of this hotel. Tip: no need to use Uber at this hotel. The local taxi stand is right across from Placa de Catalunya, and the metered taxies are always available, and they all accept Visa/Master card or cash. Very friendly drivers with transparent metered pricing.
