Great location — less than 10 mins to the metro and La Boqueria Market, 20 mins to the port, and about 30 mins to the beach. Staff were friendly and the hotel was clean. Breakfast was included, simple but decent — just go before 10 a.m. for the best selection. We had an issue with the room safe, but maintenance arrived within 5 mins and resolved it quickly. One downside: there was no shower curtain, so water splashed out of the bathtub, leaving the floor quite wet after showers. The lifts are also a problem — only two small ones, each holding 3 people max, so waits can be long. I mostly used the stairs. Not ideal if you have lots of luggage or mobility issues. There’s a luggage room for before check-in and after check-out, but it’s not monitored and guests often don’t close it properly. Overall, a good stay for the location and service — just a few things to be aware of.

Did not like location, dangerous area-so I couldn’t go out at night, beggars bothering me as I sat to eat outside during the day, couldn’t sleep as a flamenco club was loud and near my room.

The location is great, and therefore was a little crowded, the elevators are smaller than average for a hotel with so many rooms. In general, the location and price are good enough.

The hotel room was clean and large, air conditioning was not working well enough to keep room cold. The deck was nice. The breakfast was good and lots of it, the front desk staff were very helpful. The location was perfect for getting around. All in all I would go back.

Rambling on the Ramblas

Location is 5*. Hotel is old and beyond dated but it was a perfect place for us to stay. It was convenient to all forms of transportation and shopping. The beds are extremely hard and there are no toppers to soften the blow. Rooms are not handicapped accessible. Stairs to get to the ample breakfast buffet are difficult. There are no usb ports in the rooms. This is a basic amenity. No grab bars in showers. Toiletries offered are of the cheapest quality. Towels are old and thin. No washcloths either. No tissue boxes in the room had to purchase at the grocery store. A/C runs very cold. Difficult to adjust. Mirror for makeup is set too high for short people. Check in was a nightmare. Not enough staff to work it out. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Lots of police presence on the streets to help you feel safe.
