Great front desk staff, loved the welcome drink, candy and cookies in the lobby, one tram stop from train station, walkable to many areas of interest, water tap on each floor. Con was not enough outlets and bad lighting in the room.

We stayed only one night--six people in three rooms. We did not get the renovated rooms. The bathroom was extremely small but fine. We did not get the breakfast. The location of this hotel was perfect for exploring the Christmas markets. One negative was that the recommended parking garage was full, so we had to park our rental car at the main train station, which was a bit of a distance away and more expensive than anticipated. One note about cleanliness: I happened to spot a an old room key or something under the luggage stand/box mounted on the wall. Who knows how long it had been there, but it just made me feel like the room was not thoroughly cleaned. Otherwise, every staff member we dealt with was really friendly and helpful.

Excellent check in, quick stroll to city center and Christmas markets. City is hilly so there are stairs! Hotel has charming gnome garden, and places to sit, with blankets if it’s chilly. Nice breakfast buffet. Staff was lovely.

This hotel is 5 stars! Loved it. It is super clean, the rooms are quiet and cozy. The bathroom is spacious and meticulously cleaned (something that I personally appreciate). The check in was easy and automated through the official website and when I arrived the staff provided me with keys, charged the city taxes and showed me the iconic places in a brochure. The breakfast is amazing, fresh and high quality food and fruit. The sourdough bread was amazing! The decoration and the buffet area is well curated to take breakfast or even get relaxed by the afternoon. Thanks a lot! I definitely will stay in again.

The hotel Was nice staff was friendly. Our bathroom smelt like urine. It permeniated the room. The bathroom light was out of service. I did ask the front desk for some spray to clean. Not sure they understood what I was asking. It was kinda gross.

If you like hot water and full pressure, the shower is great! My room was small, but I was traveling solo so there was plenty of space. Space. They brought a fan up for me because as an American we need moving air in a room! Windows open nicely as well. They could use a few more pillows on the bed. The hotel is very convenient to the heart of Basel. If you're coming in from the train, jump on the 30 bus and get off at the very first stop. The hotel is directly across the street. You'll also receive a travel pass for public transportation through your booking.
