Staff were very helpful, particularly front of house on 7th Feb, who sorted out the missing lampshade ( a bare bulb one side of the bed is not a great first impression) and the heating as the room was freezing on arrival. He also ordered a taxi ( Alpha) 2 hours before our booking at The Anvil Theatre. Taxi didn’t arrive, he chased and they said 5/6 mins, still didn’t arrive, he called again and the taxi clearly hadn’t left, luckily we hadn’t drunk anything so we rushed to our car and drove ourselves, and ran from the car park, made it with 10 mins to spare. Bed v comfortable, food good. GB News playing at breakfast not ideal, a bit far right and racist for many peoples taste, perhaps go more neutral with BBC?

For the second time in 2 weeks and in different rooms I’ve stayed and had a problem with the heating. This time the bathroom was so cold I felt unable to have a shower. I reported the issue to the reception and the guy said there was nothing he could do as I’d pre- paid. I told him I was unable to accept that and he then said he would get the reservations manager to call me. Guess what? No call as yet. Absolutely appalling. The hotel is very tired and out dated too.

Had to ask to clean the room and empty bins After that we brought bigger waist bags the room was kept tidy and cleaned. The room was ansaccessie room but not suitable for severely handicapped person with one arm and mobility problems The staff were brilliant and polite

Not fair to provide rooms with broken facilities.

Choose a hotel with aircon. Our room wasn't working and had a plug-in fan and a heater (so clearly a known issue). Window barley opened so on one of the hottest days it was like a furnace. Got no sleep. Kept awake by heat, fan noise, and noise and light from outside given we could not close the wooden blinds. Had to phone reception at 3am (!!) to ask them to request the car outside playing music and shining lights into our room to leave. 2nd night we got moved to a different room. Totally different experience to actually get what we paid for and be able to sleep. Even though hotel is very tired and needs updating, it can be forgiven if you are actually comfortable and able to sleep.

Great Hotel, friendly, clean and welcoming

good, clean hotel, our room was beautiful and very large for a family of 4. we had a double and 2 sofa beds. Unfortunately one of the beds was very bumpy and uncomfy so my son chose to put mattress on the floor where he discovered the mattress to be really thin and he did not get the best nights sleep (this was not reported to reception as it was late at night, I'm sure they would have helped if they were informed) The staff at this hotel were incredibly helpful, friendly, kind and professional. The food was delicious and fairly priced. location for us was perfect as we booked the hotel for a half way point on our journey. It was a pleasure to stay here and we would definitely stay again and recommend it.
