Brilliant value.

We stayed the night when attending a show at the Anvil. The hotel was convenient for the town centre restaurants and the theatre. The hotel has free parking. Our room was spotless and clearly recently renovated. Other rooms had workmen replacing bathrooms, so the hotel Is being smartened up. The bed was comfortable, and the room warm. Reception staff were helpful. Overall, for the price we paid, it was excellent value for money and we will definately use again. We didnt stay for breakfast, so cant comment on food.

Red Lion Basingstoke

I stayed here for one night and chose this hotel for its location. The hotel check in was quick and easy. The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom spotless. The hotel messaged me in advance of my stay to explain as it’s a town centre hotel it may be noisy but I found it very quiet. The breakfast was ok, I chose the cooked breakfast and there was a range of items you can choose from along with a cold buffet. Very good priced hotel, with parking and clean and comfortable stay. I would stay here again.

This hotel does what it says on the tin! It’s right in the centre and close to pubs and restaurants. You are warned about mouse from the surrounding area, but we stayed in room 32 on third floor and wasn’t disturbed. Tea & Coffee in room. Hairdryer on request. Free car parking. Very dated. Poor lighting in room. No sockets by bed. Comfy bed.

This is the second time I have stayed here while on business, the staff are so friendly, the room is nice and spacious and bathroom nice and clean. Location is great with a short walk to restaurants and cafes and also the large shopping centre and train station also a easy walk. My only suggestion would be a mini fridge in the room and also laundry facility would be a nice to have. The free parking is also very handy. I would definitely stay here again.

Awful place - filthy and poor service !

Avoid this place like the plague ! Found someone’s toenail clippings in the bathroom - also excrement on the bathroom wall ! Shower didn’t drain as it was filthy with dirt and hair ! Hair all over the carpet ! Addressed with management and promised full refund - then reneged on it ! Keep away from place unless you can put up with filth!
