Nice hotel in a great location

I usually stay here when in Belfast on business. The staff are friendly, the beds comfortable and it is within easy walking distance of The Duke of York and lots of other pubs and restaurants. Kayla on reception was charming and efficient when booking me in. A pleasant stay all round.

We chose this hotel as it was the cheapest in the city centre but were pleasantly surprised. The room was comfortable and two double beds for myself and two teenage girls was perfect. The hotel was quiet and there wasn’t much outside noise either. Breakfast was as good as you would get anywhere else with plenty of choice. The location of the hotel was ideal for two days shopping and we parked in a small 24 hour car park opposite the hotel which was very reasonable. Would definitely recommend and visit again for a one or two night stay in Belfast city centre.

Basic but ok, poor service

As a family of 5 we booked 2 rooms some weeks in advance. We requested neighbouring rooms (in advance and at check-in) but this was ignored. On attempting to check in at 3pm only one of our rooms was ready and indeed we had to wait until around 4.30pm to get our second room. (No apologies). Rooms were warm, comfortable and basic with nice clean bedding and towels. Our second room looked out onto a multistorey car park. Ensuite floor was grubby. The hotel seems mostly popular with parties out for a night on the town (great location for nightlife). We were woken at 2am by a drunken quarrel in our corridor. I mentioned this at reception on checkout but was simply wished a nice day in response.

The area was great to walk into town and footsteps away from the popular Cathedral Quarter. Our room was very clean and even though we were there for only two nights, our room was cleaned on the second day and towels replaced, which was good service. We arrived early and were told that the hotel would give us a call when a room became available, but we didn’t receive any call. Eventually we went back to the hotel around 6 pm to check if a room was ready. The only downside was our room overlooked a multi storey car park and hotel wall, no sky in sight, which was noisy.

A Good Place to Stay

It was a nice experience at Ramada Hotel. John and Kayla at the front desk helped me with information about the tours and I booked accordingly. It ended up being an amazing experience with the Giant Causeway tours. I found strands of hair on my bedlinen that was a big minus but the rooms and hallways were very clean. Housekeeping also cleaned up when we were out. The lobby is lovely too. I held a couple of my YouTube live streams there.

The hotel was lovely- although the location was quite run down but near to the bars and the Common Market. The rooms were spacious and good facilities- all that you needed for a comfortable stay. Sadly even though I asked to be on the quiet side of the hotel, they seemed to place all the noisy hen parties on the same corridors and same side of the hotel- which meant screaming and shouting at all times. We were also woken up early in the mornings by the cleaners congregating outside the rooms and shouting down the corridors to each other. Such a shame as otherwise this is a great hotel.
