Located in the heart of the Shanty Creek / Schuss Mountain Resort area, The Treehouse is perfectly situated to enjoy four seasons of Northern Michigan adventure. Perched high in a hardwood forest, this unique retreat feels secluded and peaceful—yet is just minutes from skiing, pools, world-class golf, lakes, and outstanding dining. You’re close to everything you want, surrounded by nature, and yes—we’re pet-friendly.


🏡 Designed for families and groups, The Treehouse is beautifully updated in the classical Schuss Mountain style and comfortably sleeps 8+ guests. It offers all the comforts of home in a beautiful woodland setting!

The Main Upper Level (Kitchen, Living & Dining)

With an open-concept layout and tons of natural light, this entire space has peaceful forest views all around you. The kitchen adjoins the living space and dining area – all with new luxury vinyl plank flooring, and access to the wrap around deck.

The Kitchen features:
• Fully equipped for preparing meals with the family - with all cooking & eating utensils, pots & pans
• Newer Refrigerator, oven/range, microwave
• Keurig dual drip coffee maker (traditional & K-cup) - complimentary coffee, tea, cream & sugar included
• 4-slice toaster
• Blender
• Tea Kettle
• Crock pot
• Electric frying pan


Living and Dining areas:
• The living room features leather couches and plenty of seating for the whole family. There’s a 40” Smart LED Roku TV with cable for streaming your favorite shows, dual ceiling fans, and an awesome retro-style fireplace for cozy evenings (firewood is provided for your use).
• The dining area has a large table with seating for 10 for meals, or the occasional family game night. There’s dimmable lighting and deck access through two large sliding doors.
• The wrap-around deck is expansive - with wooded views, plenty of seating, a firepit and gas grill with all utensils. There’s also a new barrel sauna on the deck to help you unwind and recooperate after a day on the slopes!

Lower Level (Recreation Room & Lounge)

A favorite with the kids – and most adults 😊. This wide open space features knotty pine paneling and cozy seating areas with leather couches, café table and room for all – perfect for family movie nights, relaxing, and reconnecting with friends.

Entertainment & Rec Room Area features:
• Smart LED Roku TV
• Pool table with high top table & chairs for tournaments
• Retro Atari video gaming system
• Plenty of board games and a “Giant Jenga”
• Spare refrigerator for drinks or snacks
• Wall baskets for wet ski gear after a day on the slopes

Bedrooms

On the main upper level is the master bedroom. This bedroom has vaulted ceilings, and features a new, adjustable queen bed. There’s a smart LED TV with cable and a sizeable closet for storing your clothes and personal belongings.

On the lower level, bedroom #2 has an adjustable queen size bed, a smart LED TV, dresser space and a closet for storing your clothing and bags.

The kids will love the third bedroom - equipped with lots of shelf space, a dresser, and two sets of bunk beds.
All linens, bedding and extra blankets are provided.

As with many properties in the Schuss community, most rooms have their own heaters that can be set independently to keep everything nice and comfortable for everybody. The three bedrooms have newer wall A/C units for the summer months. A Pack n Play type crib and portable fans are also included with your stay

Bathrooms

There is a full bath on the lower level with a stall shower (with multiple shower head options) and a custom slab wood vanity.

Upstairs you`ll find another full bath with a new, custom tiled tub/shower. All towels are provided, as is a hairdryer for your use.

Laundry Room

Located on the lower level, the laundry room has a newer washer and dryer for your use, and laundry detergent and dryer sheets are provided. A first aid kit is also provided in the cabinets above the washer.
