Heater was stuck on 75, could not get anything lower when the ambient temp was 40!!!! The hallways were easily 80 degrees and the restaurant was very short staffed- however! The restaurant manager was AMAZING and he was taking care of all of the customers like I haven't seen before! Bravo for taking charge of a difficult situation and making our experience awesome! Thank you!

Do not stay on the 4th floor (mezzanine) during winter unless you like your room extra hot. We had a room on the 4th floor that was 82 degrees and the heater was on. We moved rooms immediately.

Big Bear VW Takeover

Enjoyed the large suite with jacuzzi tub and fireplace. The balcony overlooking the pool was nice. Service was exceptional and everyonw was pleasant. Will return again.

The property is old. There are not enough staff. They do not explain how the breakfast works. First day the waiter was telling me that is a set menu of very few options a la carte and not buffet style. He recommends we order from the menu and deducts 12 per person adult only. Was never told until the second day that kids eat free so after paying for the breakfast on the hotel site I end up paying $50 out of pocket for two kids meals and two adults. Second day was Sunday and since it was brunch the credit would be applied and had to pay a bit to cover for the difference. Also on the second day the AC was not working and the room was so hot! It was78 degrees and the engineer could not fix it. Had to get a fan and open the little crack in the windows that was allowed to cool down the room. By midnight temp was 60 degrees and we woke up freezing so now we had to turn on the heather. Overall I would not return to his hotel because for the price that I paid for 2 nights I have stayed at much better places. Also, in the lobby they have free coffe and tea. It was a hit and miss. Many times coffee was out and hot water was lukewarm. Overral the hotel is close to everything and we were able to walk everywhere instead of driving. Location is great but not the rest. Also if you are disabled you have to go down 10 steps to get to the first floor and then the elevator works to go to second and third but you have to physically bring down all your luggage and no help.

Only thing that was disappointing was the breakfast, at the time of reservation we were told it was included for two and 12.99 USD per additional guest. But we ended up paying 86 USD even with voucher for two. The restaurant claimed that is is not part of the lodging and we need to pay. Which was not acveptable.

Power went out multiple times, doing construction at 10:30pm, elevator was broken, service non-existent jacuzzi was closed. Really comically bad all around.

Blackouts and No Generator

Power went out in the whole building throughout the night and the next morning. No generators. Air got stuffy and hot in the building. Terrible experience.

Worst Stay in Big Bear

I prepaid for the breakfast but the hotel management charged 50 usd on top of the prepaid amount saying, breakfast is free from mo day to Saturday but not on sunday. There were chocolates near the bed which were not cleaned. The refrigerator did not work. The doors to the bathroom is too difficult to close or open as there are no handles to the door on top of that the heating in the usint was terrible.
