This was a unfortunate situation. We reserved a room at the Red Roof Inn, down the block, from this loaction, 6 months ago. When we arrived Red Roof Inn told us our reservation did not exist. I contacted Expedia and they rebooked our room at the Econo Lodge for the same price. The property was very sub par. The first room we were in the shower/bathtub system had no hot water and was dirty. The second room had water seeping in under the floor. We were in a no win situation because we came to Mississippi for a giant car show that we had paid to be a part of. We knew there were no other hotels available, for a reasonable price, so, we had to stay. We had very long days, at the show and I guess that was a blessing to stay away from the area and this crappy room.
I fault Red Roof Inn for lieing to us. They told us not to trust any third party like EXPEDIA The truth is they cancelled our room just so we would pay more. I also fault Expedia for not guaranteeing our room and feel that we should not have had to pay for any of it. We deserve a refund. Will we get it, NO, because no one cares.
Bottom line:
1. Red Roof Inn is at fault for all of this.
2. EXPEDIA is at fault for not guaranteeing our room.
3. ECONO LODGE for thinking such a crappy hotel would be acceptable to anyone.
