First we were overcharged for breakfast and no one could figure out how to return the overcharge. Then our room was not serviced and we didn't learn about that until we return after midnight. Of course there was only one person on staff at that time so my husband had to retrieve clean towels. Before we had left for graduation, I had reported that the toilet seat needed to tighten. And, of course, that had not been done. I was very disappointed by our stay at Hilton Garden Inn in Hoover. It should have been a relaxing stay when celebrating our granddaughter's graduation, but it became a series of frustrations.

As of April 2026 this place is nearly new. It’s a unique set up to me. It’s a Homewood Suites on one side and HGI on the other, shares the same lobby. My only 2 issues are that breakfast on the HGI side is lactate $15, and it’s prob not worth $5. Empty dishes, empty coffee and non helpful staff. We had a check in issue and were told the manager was off on Saturdays and could not help us, but he was actually just around the corner and finally came out. It will take a little intentional effort to keep the hotel nice and new.

The room was spacious and very clean. The property was modern and impressive. The reason it was a terrible stay was because the mattress was awful. It was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in. The mattress was fully worn out with deep "ruts" on reach side and a high center that felt like you were laying on an old sofa bed with a metal rail in the center. We had gotten in late and unpacked before we ever realized the mattress issue... I didn't complain to the front desk because we didn't want to change rooms after getting all unpacked. Room 310 needs a new mattress.

We had a wonderful experience at the hotel! The area around it is really nice also with lots of things to offer like different shops and different restaurants that you can walk to! We will definitely be staying there again!

This is a fantastic and clean hotel. Miranda at the desk was outstanding! She was the only clerk and handled a line of folks waiting with grace. Nicest hotel we’ve stayed in for a while. Bed was so comfy!

Nice location and hotel however they have a huge security issue. It issued me keys to room that was occupied already with people in it twice. Staffed person just apologized and offered a $10 credit. Luckily, I did not yet into a fight or have a security issue with occupants in the room.
