Worst experience ever!

Booked two rooms, one for my ill mother and one for me and my wife. They double booked our room so put me in a really bad situation, had to give my parents the available room. Their shower didn’t work, the TV didn’t work and the room was full of flies. It ruined all our stay totally.

was understaffed.bar had not much choice of alcohol. Lift didn't work so my 72 year old mother in law had to climb 3 floors of stairs of which carpets were dirty and disgusting. Tv in room had limited signal to get channels. Room itself was clean and comfortable. Probably wouldn't stay there again.

I did not feel at all safe in this property, it was horrible and quite scary for a single women. 1. There was a drunken man in the reception/ bar who had with a large Mastiff Bulley type dog with him. 2. The front foyer and entrance was dirty along with the staircase. Reception looked unclean with an open waste bin full of rubbish in sight. 3. From my room I could hear the conversion of a group of men in the room opposite mine. 4. The television in my room was off the wall and was propped up against the wall, the plug didn't fit any socket. The bathroom fittings were covered in masses of filler. 5. The room being on the top floor was hot and sweaty with no cooling system of fan. This was not a room I could stay in and I had to leave immediately asking for a refund, which I am yet to receive.

My original room was noisy, and there was a strong smell of weed in the corridor. It had no aircon as advertised. With load music being played and people arguing in the corridor. I went back to reception and the lady put we in an upgraded room, this time with aircon . The room was fine, however the aircon didnt work and there for the room temp through the night was extremely hot.

Our stay

Check in was smooth, although big dog in reception area can be off putting for guests arriving. No privavcy given at reception desk either with other guests just standing there for a chat with staff. Visited bar, no glasses offered with bottled drink - staff member more concerned about going out side to vape. Room (134) Television rested on dressing table obviously previously used to be on the wall and it'd come off and it was just put there. The following morning I went to have a shower. Absolutely no cold water came out through the shower - now I like I hot shower but it took my husband filling up plastic cups at the sink so I could wash my hair as there is no way I could tolerate the shower. The water coming out the sink taps was also of the same scolding temperature.

Basic clean budget stay

Very basic, building looks run down. However was perfect for a night sleep in between my travels. Staff were friendly. I would stay again for the price for what I needed.

Give this a miss

Took 20 mins to check in, then had to change rooms because the TV was broken. Receptionist looked stressed (she was also doing the bar) then took another 45 mins to get a new room (that tv didnt work either) No soap, tea bags, shower gel etc. Shower hanging off the wall. General hotel condition overall is terrible. I had booked another night there, but I am not going back, I have booked somewhere else. I suppose you get what you pay for (£34) If you are a tradesman, it's better than sleeping in your van (possibly) This hotel needs a proper shake up.

The room was large with plenty of seats and a large king size bed which gave a good night sleep. The breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately there was a leak in the bathroom ceiling coming from the room above us. Also the shower-head was tied with cable ties so that the shower head was facing the wall. We complained to staff but nothing was done with the situation.

Hotel receptionist was lovely, I checked in with my grandson, in to a family room, on Friday 6th of June. The room had recently been decorated, but there was paint all over the carpet, and the carpet was really shabby. No tv in the room. So we were staying for 2 nights, so I thought not to much of a problem, the beds were pretty decent. The problem was when I went for a shower no water came out, it was trickling out and it was cold. So I went down to reception to complain, the lady was lovely, she came up to the room, and said it wasn’t acceptable obviously with paint all over the carpet and no hot water. She said couldn’t put us in another room as hotel was fully booked. And couldn’t refund us, because we had booked through hotels.com. So I would be very grateful if we could be refunded.

The hotel is undergoing renovations. The elevator doesn’t work. The room was straight out of the 1970’s! Do not book this hotel. It’s old and dirty! The staff were polite, but knocked on the door at 9:30 to ask what time our checkout was.

Pay the extra. It's worth it.

I payed £70 for BNB so I wasn't expecting a great deal . What I wasn't expecting was the hotel is used as temporary accommodation for all walks of life. I returned after a family party close by to be confronted by a Ambulance and it's crew being called for someone who was that drunk, they couldn't crawl. Never mind stand. Then all kinds of people coming in and out of the hotel. I was only in the hotel for a hour at check in,then I slept there. That was enough. I noticed all rooms had the window open.aThete was a readon. All rooms were a million degrees so I had to sleep with the window open all night and suffer the traffic noise. I came down for breakfast to find Ambulance number 2 there taking someone away who obviously lived at the hotel. I am easy going, so,if I say don't stay there, don't. Plus points. The staff were all polite and try and make your stay comfortable. Even though the hotel needs gutting from top to bottom,or knocking down, the bed sheets were clean. This stay was my fault intireley. I went for the cheap option and payed the price. If you want somewhere very cheap,to sleep there, with clean bedsheets, this place is gorgeous you. Otherwise,as I will do moving forward.Pay the extra . I must say ,I have used Hotels.com hundreds of times. This place is a one off. Hopefully.
