Helpful staff but old and past it hotel

Lack of accessible parking and very uneven surface on the car park. Staff were super friendly and tried their hardest but over the two nights we moved rooms twice and all three rooms had something broken, damaged or faulty in them. The first room was disgusting, hair on the shower head, hole in the door, blown plug in the bathroom, and smashed lamp. We were moved quickly without fuss but the second room had layers of dust in the cups, holes in the bedsheets and rust poured out of the kettle in flakes and chunks. The third room had a faulty lamp and wardrobe door and the TV didn't work. At that point we'd already been given complimentary dinner and breakfast and had given up hope of finding a room that was safe and had everything working. Despite the staffs best efforts, we won't be back.

A Victorian Dream with a Side of Unwanted Soundtrack... Our stay at the royal court Hotel was almost perfect. The hotel itself is a stunning example of Victorian elegance—clean, charming, and exactly the kind of ambiance we adore. From the grand architecture to the immaculate decor, it was like stepping back in time to an era of refinement and grace. However, while our room was labeled "non-smoking," it seemed to have a lingering fondness for the ghost of cigarettes past. It was as if the previous guest had conducted a thorough "historical reenactment" of indoor smoking laws before our arrival. The real entertainment, though, came courtesy of our neighbors, who provided an immersive auditory experience until 2am. Between the bass-heavy beats of their personal nightclub and their, shall we say, enthusiastic expressions of love, it felt like we had accidentally booked a front-row seat to a live-action reality show. At one point, we genuinely considered knocking to ask if they needed a camera crew. All jokes aside, the staff was lovely, the location was great, and the hotel itself is a gem. A little extra soundproofing and a refresher on room policies would take this place from "almost perfect" to "absolutely flawless." Would we stay again? Absolutely—just with a pair of noise-canceling headphones and a scented candle in tow!

We stopped here a few years ago and were not impressed by tired decor, cleanliness and poor service. this stay was very different, hotel has been redecorated and all staff were friendly and helpful. Easy car park and lovely gardens to enjoy when the weather is good and lots if seating areas to hang out inside.

It was value for money. Very clean & neat. I had a lovely sleep with minimal noises almost none. Rooms equipped with refreshments and all utilities available. I would definitely recommend it. I can’t wait to revisit again.

when we booked in to the hotel we were not told about the manual inputting of the car reg they asked us for our car registration number at other hotels i stay at when they do this they input this into there system and thats that i passed no signes regarding the manual input of the car registrantion was require and i ended up with a car parking ticket arrinving through the post not happy

The room has been dirty,and had a disgusting smell. This it wasn’t a hotel but more like a hostel of motel, we spend 39£ for 2 people for 2 day a for breakfast which is a lot compared with what the hotel had to offer for breakfast.I understand that is not a 4-5 stars hotel but the services and the accommodation it Aaa very poor and disgusting. The tower in the room is for kids not for adults,the are very small. Definitely I don’t recommend and we will not going back there.

We requested an early check-in prior to our stay however received no reply from the hotel. However, upon arrival the staff were willing to accommodate our request. When we went to the room the room was open with dirty bedding still in the doorway, however the room itself had been cleaned and made up and the dirty bedding quickly removed. Room and en-suite was very spacious, although shower cubicle was on the small side. A large, smart tv in room however no remote and spare remote provided was dirty. Phone signal (EE) was poor and hotel WiFi inadequate. Lots of free parking available. Overall the hotel was great value for money and more than adequate for our one night stay. Staff were friendly and helpful and room spacious and comfortable. We didn’t use any of the hotel’s other facilities so can’t comment.

Don't waste your time here, worst hotel in years!

Absolutely awful and would not recommend to an enemy, let alone a friend. Accessible room had a broken toilet which was half hanging on. So we got moved to room number two, soon as you walked in it smelt like raw sewage. Room number three which was not accessible and a grumpy receptionist later was so cold it was mental. We had to put the radiator on oursleves and leave the room to go elsewhere to warm up. It was still cold and even with extra duvets, my husband who is never cold had to sleep in his clothes. We had a bed that was made out of breeze blocks and pillows like bricks. I did not sleep at all and was already uncomfortable complaining about the room. The extractor fan in the bathroom was so noisy that every time I went to the toilet in the night, I woke my already tired and cold husband up. This was not good as we were at a business conference and had to leave that early due to the impact of the bad night at the hotel. It must have been a known thing about the pillows as another customer made comment that we must have known about the pillows which is why we had one, that is used to support legs. This was said with a laugh and an eyeroll. The guy who brought us the extra duvet and pillows was lovely but I think putting a duvet onto a guest who is already in the bed is taking it a bit far. I do however assume he had some sort of disability and he was very sweet and not a threat but maybe a word that it is not appropriate. So bad!
