Historic hotel with lots of character, but also filled with modern comforts and amenities. Staff were welcoming and friendly, room was nicely decorated, cosy, warm and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner menus in the rooms, along with a selection of drinks, and a whole book full of the hotel's history and other useful info. All toiletries provided too. Large bar area and restaurant serving food and beers from the local Hall and Woodhouse brewery. Room prices were really reasonable considering that they also included breakfast (both cooked and cold items available).

Large parking area out the back, we missed it first round but located it easily enough - slightly slow check-in but room was gorgeous! I loved reading about the history of the hotel and local town.

Check in was simple and car parking simple just remember to register your registration. Rooms are very nice and a take you back in time. Only issue the floorboards are slippy if walking in socks 😀. Bed is really comfy & cosy. BReakfast is excellent and delivered promptly. Will definitely stay there again. Thank you for a nice overnight stay 👍

Lovely historic hotel, very pleasant and helpful staff, good food and bar, easy parking. All great. Only suggestion for improvement was brighter bedside lights for reading. But loved our stay!
