I admit, we did miss the property as we walked past, it is an old building and has one half of a floor. The entrance is extremely secure, many doors and with local bars around you are always safe, many eyes, lol. Saying that the rooms have triple glazing, so you hear no noise from the street. Valentina the manager / owner is super friendly and very helpful, with local advice and help with booking a taxi to the airport. We had the Verne room, very nice, clean and huge, there was a second small foldaway bed (which was super comfortable) so imagine without. The bathroom is great with my favourite shower, waterfall. Breakfast is provided in the room with lots to offer, most is snack food, but the choice is varied including mat, cheese and bread. I did really enjoy the room, service and ambience.

We liked the funky vibe of the area, especially the weekend jazz happenings in the street. It was only a 15 min walk to Piazza Maggiore, for many tourist activities. We also enjoyed the rain shower head, after some very hot days!!

Very cool vibe. Plenty of room for my husband, myself and our grown daughter. Great breakfast each day. Easy check in and wonderful recommendations for nearby restaurants from Valentina. There’s a great gelato place just downstairs!! The surrounding area is vibrant, especially at night and it was a little louder in the room than I expected (based on other reviews). That said, it is a cool area and we would stay here again!

Great stay in Bologna

Valentina greeted us and was very welcoming and friendly, she showed us our room which had everything we needed including a breakfast hamper with a selection of options. The room was clean and comfortable. Valentina even kindly allowed us to store our luggage in our room before our room was ready and after check out so we could continue exploring Bologna. Location was a 15 walk from the train station and a 10 minute walk to the main square.

Nice 2 night stay

Had a lovely 2 night stay here at the Steam House. Check in was smooth and no problem. Room was large and very comfortable. Very quiet inside at night considering there was a busy bar right outside.Liked the Jules Verne theme. The complimentary breakfast left in the room was a nice touch. The walk into the old town area was about 14 minutes.Would definately stay here again.

A Must Stay

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Steam House. Valentina was amazing and made sure we were well taken care of for our stay. The staff stocks the room with an abundant selection of snacks and pastries, drinks, even a meat and cheese tray. I was worried about the lively bar just below the room, but the windows are surprisingly soundproof and we slept like logs. Quick ten minute walk to the city center and more choices for food than you'll know what to do with. Highly recommend.

We loved it (but this area is not for children!)

Great little apartment in a great area (although I wouldn’t describe the area as child friendly- we saw quite a lot of open drug taking and rough sleepers right outside and the bars either side got very loud and busy) this wasn’t a concern for us at all but I wouldn’t have wanted to be there with children. The rooms are great, service was helpful and the in-room breakfast was fantastic. Would definitely stay again

We loved Steam House. The room had real character and the location was great. There were 2 adults and 2 children and, even with 2 single beds and a queen size bed, plus our luggage, the room felt spacious and was well equipped. The breakfast provided was generous and certainly filled us up before we started the day. Steam House represented very good value for money and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a place to stay in Bologna.

Great location.

Beautiful room in the heart of Bologna with many bars and restaurants a short walk away. Room is spotlessly clean with breakfast items left in fridge. Would not hesitate to stay again.
