Step aboard the Nescio!
A 100-year-old ship awaits you in a beautiful, central location in Friesland. The Nescio is fully equipped: a fully stocked kitchen (including a Quooker and dishwasher), a bath-shower combo, a corner sofa, and, of course, plenty of authentic details. Imagine yourself as the captain in the wheelhouse while you enjoy the stunning views and this unique ship with a rich history.

The space
A ship steeped in history—and now you can stay on it. Inside, there’s headroom (190 cm), and the ship is fully equipped: a little house on the water. Cooking is done using gas (inspected annually). A refrigerator, Quooker, and even a dishwasher are provided. Plates, pans, cutlery, glasses, coffee, tea, and spices are also included... you name it, the Nescio has it.

There’s a cosy and romantic double bed—also known as “the bunk” in nautical terms. The sofa can be converted into a sleeper sofa for two people. A cot can be set up in the workspace (a baby cot is provided; please bring your own linens for it).

Outdoor Living
The deck is a wonderful place to relax. On the aft deck, you’re sheltered from the sun and have a fantastic, sweeping view. There are wonderful opportunities for fishing. Getting too hot? Just jump in to cool off! (At your own risk—swim ladder provided.) There’s a hammock on the deck. Now you just have to decide whether to watch the beautiful sunset from the hammock or the wheelhouse.

Additional options
You can also invite friends and family; they can reserve a spot at the campground, spend the night in a cool glamping tent, or stay in an apartment or group accommodation. Check out Tijnjehoeve for the options! You’ll also receive more information about this in your welcome email.

At Tijnjehoeve, you can also rent a sailboat, a Lemsteraak with a skipper, take sailing lessons, and more. Please note: Do you have your own boat or are you renting a sloop for several days? That’s possible, but you’ll need to pay mooring fees for your boat.

Please note: Unfortunately, the bridge at Uitwellingerga is closed to car traffic until further notice. We recommend bringing your own bicycles or renting some to get to Sneek more quickly.

Guest access
It is prohibited to enter the engine room. You are not allowed to open certain hatches on the deck; these are marked with “private” signs. We ask for your understanding.

You are, however, allowed to be in the wheelhouse, sit on the deck, and use the hammock!

Other things to keep in mind
- Boating: You may not operate the boat.
- Not suitable for: Unfortunately, the boat is not suitable for people with disabilities or those with severe back problems (due to the need to bend over)
- Smoking: Smoking is not permitted indoors or in the wheelhouse.
- Pets: Unfortunately, pets are not allowed.
- Children: Life jackets are available for children; you are responsible for their use.
- Options for renting a sailboat, taking sailing lessons, renting a SUP, etc.: ask about the possibilities at Tijnjehoeve.
