Absolutely Disgusting – This Hotel Should Be Shut Down I don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience was so revolting I feel a duty to warn others. This hotel is an absolute disgrace and should be shut down for the sake of public health and safety. The condition of the room was appalling. The carpet wasn’t just stained — it was filthy. It clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time. The bathroom was worse: the toilet seat was dirty with visible smears, and I had to wipe down the toilet roll before using it. There were long black hairs all over the bath and bathroom tiles, and a large dead moth had been splattered on the wall and left there in plain sight. Breakfast was of the lowest possible quality: cheap few options, No vegetables, and only a few poor-quality apples and oranges on offer. Even worse, the waitress was refilling the bread using her bare hands — no gloves — which is absolutely disgraceful, especially in a post-COVID world. Basic hygiene standards were clearly ignored. But by far the worst part: I brought bed bugs home with me. My own home is spotless, and it still cost me £600 in pest control fees to get rid of them. Completely unacceptable. This hotel should not be operating. It is unhygienic, unsafe, and utterly disgusting. Do not stay here — you are genuinely risking your health and your home. And don’t be fooled by the claim that this hotel has parking — it only has a limited number of spaces and they charge £12 per day. This is misleading.

Terrible /Horrible/ dirty

The photos on Hotel.com do not reflect the quality and service they offer. The price is that of a 4-star hotel, but the service is less than 5 stars. The bed linen is dirty, the room has electrical problems, the bathroom has no light or power. They charged me £38 for water/bread/coffee for breakfast. It's crazy how horrible the service is at this place. For a daily rate of £137, I paid £257 for 2 nights. I won't even leave a review because the customer service doesn't exist. In short, pay more for another hotel and avoid disappointment.

Receptionist very helpful but we were disappointed that the room didn't have an information pack in it. We had to go to ask reception separately about pool times, breakfast times etc. and we didn't see a wi-fi password at all. The room was hot but it was in a heatwave - a fan would have helped but not expected. Cleaning staff friendly and did a good job.

If location is the only thing thats important to you then by all means stay here, if you like comfort and cleanliness and you can afford to stay someone else do so! We were staying for the cheer comp. The BIC is just 2 minutes walk so excellent location for us. Also very close to bars/restaurants shops and beach! The hotel itself has quite a dreary and rundown feel to it, lots of brown! We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the room, we had a family room. We were also surprised but not so pleasantly at our view....overlooking the bins!! Where there were also a couple of dumped matteress. Our toilet had black water in it, there was also a strange object stuck to the ceiling which we came to conclusion was a nipple cover! The carpet was brown and very dirty looking. We discovered our room window could be accessed from the street and there was a large rock placed outside, allowing someone to climb through the window if they really wanted to! We mentioned the view and the possible access to the room from the street to the manager, we said we didnt feel safe being 2 females and 2 teenage girls. She seemed disinterested and said 'you wont get broken into, we have camaras everwhere!' There was apparently nothing they could do as no other rooms free. I feel this is why they dont bother to improve things as they still get people staying there, even with the bad reviews. I cant comment on the swimming pool or food as we didnt try either.

Nowhere in your advertising did you mention that it was on a steep hill? The room hadn’t been cleaned. The furnishings were outdated. There were burn marks on the carpet and the curtains. I was unable to use the wardrobes as they smelt awful. It would’ve been nice to have had a choice of milk for the tea coffee facilities as opposed to the UHT milk that’s provided. So I had to go and buy my own semi skimmed milk for my drinks. I was very disappointed

Got there lift to 3rd floor not working. Had to get lift to 2nd floor then walk to third. Got to room key didn’t work in door. Cleaner let us in and reported to maintenance. We went out to come back to reception to pick up new key. With lift still not working. On next day wife had just got out of shower when she heard someone putting a key in the door. She grabbed a towel and opened the door to find a male housekeeper saying this room should be empty. Who are you. So told him we were booked for two nights. So he went then came back asking our name. So I had to go down to sort it out with reception. Who told us we were booked into room 314 not 312. But they gave us 312 when we arrived it’s also on my receipt. Then Saturday morning we went down for breakfast and was told our room was not on the list…. Also when we got to breakfast there were no sausages or bacon and I would have to wait 10 minutes. Then the wife’s breakfast was cold and had to ask to put it in the microwave. The weekend was not relaxing because of the hotel.

Seen better days

It's clear from when you arrive this use to be an impressive hotel but the years have not been kind and it is showing cracks due to its age and lack of maintenance The room overall was clean though grubby (carpets and sofa) and in poor condition Bed was comfortable but the pillows were like disorganised popcorn and the room was about as hot as you can get without being lethal so overall not a place you are going to get a good night's sleep Location was very good and quite central to a lot of the the amenities in Bournemouth including the pier The leisure facilities were best forgotten about as they are not much to mention....a tiny pool and a barely warm sauna Staff were helpful (they dealt with a noise complaint we have with the adjacent room) and the breakfast was overall quite nice especially the hash browns
