Room was clean and quiet. My only gripe is that I was given a twin room rather than a double bed, as I was expecting. As ever, no recognition of my Hotels.com ‘Platinum’ status and therefore no free upgrade or drink on arrival etc etc

Breakfast was good, they cleared tables but didn't always clean them, which was a shame. Parking is good but then there is a walk along an alleyway between the hotel and the bowling venue. It seems safe but could be daunting if on your own.

I only met the reception staff and those serving breakfast and they were very nice. My husband was very annoyed that the knives were too blunt to cut his orange at breakfast time. His bad mood bothered me more than the knives bothered him! The TV was pixilating especially on the channels lower in the list. Mentioned it to reception when we left so didn't bother me too much. Mentioned also that the stair carpet had come loose but next time I came down the stairs it had been fixed. One of the lifts was out of action but I use the stairs anyway and my husband was able to use the other lift.
