Great spot near downtown

Great place to stay that is walking distance from downtown. Our room had a murphy bed, that worked well for the kids as it is more comfortable than a pull out sofa bed. Pros: Close to downtown. Free parking (if you have a standard size vehicle. Vary large trucks would be a problem). Full small kitchen w/ range, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker. Cons: No AC. Fans in the room were adequate for cooling at night.

Just a one night stay. Really well equipped room with huge fridge, washing machine, oven and loads of utensils. Would be great for a week or longer. Only down side was the bed was a drop down/foldaway. When it was out it was a bit cramped getting in and out - there was loads of room the other side in the lounge and diner. Hot tub was not that big for the number of guests.

Great location and we really like the premier studio unit for two people. The staff is very helpful. No air conditioning, but we've been able in previous years to manage with a box fan, but it was just too hot this year. They offered swamp coolers, which they delivered promptly, but no instructions! Ran it last night and it was noisy but effective, except for beeping, which I guess was a water indicator. Had it on in the room this morning and it was like a swamp in there - have since learned from Google that a door or window need to be opened. Sad to say this might be enough to make us look for other accommodations next year.

this property was very unique. The condos were small, but did the trick for one night. The areas outside were amazing. Staff was accommodating to people’s needs. It was clean parking was easy. The only thing needs to be a little bit more handicap accessible.

Our arrival was difficult as there were construction vehicles in the drive up with no where else to park. Once we checked in found our room not like any of the pictures on the website. Very uncomfortable & crowded. The pool & hot tub was not useable. The beds were very uncomfortable & squeaky every time you moved. We didn’t get any fresh towels or housekeeping. We went down for free coffee in morning & they were out. Had to request to make more. The only thing that was okay is that it seemed very clean & the front desk people were friendly.

The location was amazing! It was two blocks away from all the shopping and dining on Main Street. What we did not like... and what we weren't aware... is that the property had no air conditioning. That was most likely my fault in not reading the exact details of the property, but when you live in the south, you always want air conditioning. Our room was very hot when we walked inside it. The property does offer fans, but they did not help.

Great downtown access

I think it is common for properties in ski areas to show a little wear, and that is true of River Mountain Lodge. However, the entire place including our unit is very well maintained, and the staff is helpful and courteous. The location so close to the middle of town cannot be beat for access to shopping and the gondola. And the onsite tiki bar is a very fun place. I was impressed as well that the guy taking care of the hot tubs actually knew the target temperature for the tubs. (We used two of them, and the temp was around the 101 to 102 range, which while not as hot as I prefer was very agreeable.)
