Warren Dunes - Large 2 Br-2 Bath, Hot Tub, Wbfpl , Next To Wineries

This metal sided lodge with a metal roof was once offices for a construction company. The owners happened to be our landlords when we rented their cottage across the field. We fell in love with the 2000 acre park behind us and wanted to create our own space.

Since we renovate homes for a living, we were able to collect a lot of items along the way that didn't fit someone else's vision for their new space. There was also the mismeasured door or cabinet or window that needed a new home. All of these lovely items found a new home in our converted structure.The screened porch was a covered dirt floor for lumber. Our great room was a garage and the bedrooms were offices.As you can see from the pictures, it has come a long way.

It is hard to get the experience of feeling you are a million miles away from everything unless you take out a second mortgage on your home and head to the Polynesian Islands. Fortunately for us, we found this crown jewel of a 2000 acre park called Warren Dunes on the lake one hour and twenty minutes from Chicago. We are on the North end of the park away from the main entrance so it is like owning your own private estate on the lake. We hardly run into a soul all year round. Since we can not enjoy all the time ourselves, we decided to share the secret with you..

Everything was clean and well stocked with a little Christmas tree set up, very cute. A perfect little relaxing place to spend the holidays, we love this place! The hot tub is especially great on the back porch, with some lovely views during winter sunsets. And the main room is super cozy with the huge couch and fireplace . We will be back!

Overall the place was great. Very easy to find and check-in. The rooms were nice and comfortable. The hot tub was great and we loved that it was covered given the winter weather that came through. The kitchen was stocked with all the necessary tools so we did not have to go out anywhere if we didn't want to. I appreciated the owner allowed our well-behaved dog to stay with us as well.

We love this place! There are separate 3 fenced in patios, perfect for traveling with dogs, especially if you have a reactive pup. Even though the other 2 rental units are close together, the fenced-in areas are positioned for maximum privacy, it’s pretty amazing. The hot tub on the screened in porch is perfect, I love not having to go all the way outside. And the inside is comfy, clean, and spacious with everything you need in the kitchen.

This place is perfect! Pet friendly with a privacy fenced in yard that my dog loved running around in. This was her first trip to the beach/Michigan and it was great. Super close to the beach and local breweries. Kitchen is gorgeous and plenty of space for a family or group. Only thing we couldn’t figure out was the grill, but we just used the stove.

Property was very outdated and had water damage in spots. When we were looking for extra linens, we opened the door to the water heater which showed evidence of mold. Beds were very squeaky. Floors were clean, but the ceiling fan was filthy (we couldn’t turn the dining room light on without turning the fan on - the fan was COVERED in dust and filth). The outdoor areas were not usable, and the locks did not work with the key provided (once we were able to unlock the key box).

Clean, spacious main room and kitchen, nice hot tub and screened patio spacious. Master bed dips, but slept fine. Lock on door isn't reliable, could be very easily remedied with new locks. Good location to a fun area and easy communication with owner.
