It was ok overall. It seems the hotel has seen better days. The service was ok. The first room had black mold in the bathroom so we had to switch room and end up doing paid upgrade. The breakfast had a large number items. Almost too much. It did not feel like 4-star hotel.

I booked a queen size room and was dismayed with the room and bed size. You could argue I got what I paid for but I can’t emphasise how small both were. Also, the gap between the end of the bed and the desk was minimal to say the least. and two light bulbs and the extractor fan in the bathroom was broken. I paid a premium for this hotel and was very disappointed with it. Oh and also the pool was out of order. When I complained about the room being nothing like the photos I was told by what appeared to be a very unsympathetic front desk employee, that the photos were just stock pictures. I was offered an upgrade but I was charged £30 for it, given that the room had functional equipment issues and was basically a box room I was very dissatisfied. The room I was upgraded too was much better and despite being told the bed was the same size, it absolutely wasn’t. It was about 6 inches wider, thank god. Another thing was breakfast- no working coffee machines on the first morning which is frankly unacceptable in my view. The basics are very important and this hotel fell below par. I paid a premium to stay here and felt it was a waste of money. Overall I would not go back to stay at this hotel, there are far cheaper alternatives where I have stayed previously, which were better than this experience.

Hotel looks pleasant and staff are friendly and helpful. The location is great. Parking in the underground facility is very tight We did not use the restaurant, but it looked very nice. Great stay and would book again.

Health club

It was our first time staying at the Hilton Brighton. We have family that lives here so use lots of different ways to stay. This time we wanted a hotel with a swimming pool. We would rate everything 5 stars apart from the fact the pool was out of use. We did however use it after check out, but then we didn’t have towels. They didn’t have any in the health club. I also think they reuse the towels in health club when busy. Eek :(

I booked the hotel because it had a swimming pool but when i arrived there was a poster notifying customers that it was closed for maintenance. As this was a key factor for my stay it would have been nice to have been notified in advance. I paid over £500 for 2 nights for a sea view room but did not get a balcony. Unless you join the Hilton Honours scheme you cannot get free wifi. It costs £12.99 per day which I think is greedy. I didnt join on principle because i had already paid a lot of money for a basic room which i believe should have covered wifi access. I dont agree that customers should be treated differently depending on having membership or not.

Whilst this is a nice hotel, I didn’t find the staff particularly helpful. Also checking in time is from 4 pm, we arrived a bit early (about 3 pm) on the off chance that the room might be ready - it wasn’t and reception staff told us to come back at 4 which is fair enough. We parked our car and went out and came back about 4.45, however we were told the room still hadn’t been serviced! It was finally ready about 5 pm. Seeing as checking out time is 11 am it took them 6 hours to clean the room. Really? Also as there are no bottles of water provided in the room later in the evening we called down to reception for them to send up a bottle of water, which they did and we were charged £8.70 for this ‘service’! When the guy brought it to the room his card machine wouldn’t work and he wouldn’t accept cash so he advised we should settle up when we leave. Fair enough but during the night a letter was posted under door more or less saying that it was our fault that payment wasn’t made and make sure we pay up asap! Very rude! Won’t be staying here again.
