Charles Hotel in Budapest is a great choice for budget travelers looking for comfort and character. The cozy, vintage-style rooms have a charming old-world feel, and the hotel is about a 40-minute walk from the city center. The staff are extremely kind and helpful, special thanks to István at the reception for his outstanding support. The only downside is that some street-facing rooms can be a bit noisy at night, but overall it’s a very pleasant and good-value stay.

This was an older building. The bathroom was a bit dirty in the shower. The plumbing was interesting. The room was huge but the mattress was sagging in the middle. We didn't use the kitchenette. The breakfast was decent and we had dinner in the same restaurant which was nice. It was a 1km walk to the castle. Not sure I would choose this place again but it was adequate and very reasonable for one night.

Great value for money. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was wonderful and the room I had was very spacious and comfortable. Downtown Budapest was very easy to reach using the public transport very near the hotel.

Loved the stay, such a caring staff

So many good vegetarian options. Very fulfilling. Staff was soooo good, I have stayed in multiple hotels across the world, but staff at Charles Hotel has been exceptional so far. Like I can't express in words how above and beyond they went to take care of me. One of the staff even lent me his phone charger as mine was lost. They also packed me food on my last day (all veg food) as I had an early flight to catch on. Like best best and best.

The Hotel Charles ticks all the boxes. It is close enough to the city. Restaurants, shopping, bars all walkable and the city centre is a 8 minute bus ride. The hotel staff were very helpful. Istvan and his team were great. Breakfast was also good.
