Apartment Painter is a comfortable apartment .
It has one big 24 m2 bedroom with a double bed 160 x 200 cm and a single bed 80 x 200 cm .
In the smaller connected room has a single bed too 80 x 200 cm .

It is perfect for a couple and 2 singles or 4 singles when 2 of them share a double bed.

Well-furnished providing spacious accommodation for up to 3 people. Being on the third floor of an attractive and historic building with 2 lifts, the apartment has stunning side views across the River Danube . The apartment building was one of Palatinus' palaces in the second rich Jewish quarter , where old-time cafes and local restaurants bustle with local diners.

The apartment is quiet and central, with original features including enormous double doors, high ceilings, a traditional ceramic stove for heating and a big, sunny window giving a panoramic river view. Close to public transport links, cafes and restaurants, Painter is a great place to stay and enjoy the real Budapest . Our street is a dream location for locals .

MY PRIVATE GUIDED CITY, village or hiking TOURS......

My personal guided city walks talks about to see my country history through my family eyes , not juts see the beauty of the city but also search and introduce the reality , real people real problems , happiness , compare your and our freedom , economy , discuss how can be that more locals say somehow in communism was easier than today ...
All these questions which too personal to discuss in bigger group . We see on the way all monuments like Parliament , Castle hill , Shoeses , Great Market , St Stephen Basilica , Opera , Jewish quarter , old bath houses . I am felxible how many hours and what time start ..but usually takes at least 5 hours .

I do also tours by train , boat to the art village , into the Danube bend , to the most romantic 1000 yo village in Hungary called Szentendre where must to have langos , turos palacsinta , kurtos kalacs and all these in a hidden grandma garden ..

What else I also do panoramic hiking tours over Danube bend . One called Spartacus osveny , it is flat excursion with hilltop amazing villages like Pilisszentlaszlo , Visegrad , great views to the bend ending in a forrest restaurant or a late grill lunch in the sandy river beach with the best 360 panoramic views in the bend .. travel by boat , trains , local buses ...
City tour , Szentendre village or Hiking over the bend is 80 euro /person .
There is only few euros travel tickets ..

As I was learning to cook in high school and love cooking since that I like to introduce myself and Jozsef my best friend from village to invitate you for a home made dinner with our stories and the spirit of entering into local peoples life ...
price is 115 euro per person . Ask please for menu options ..

The accommodation is situated in a quiet neighbourhood and in a building likely dating from the early 1900s. The apartment was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the hosts were very responsive. Public transit and major tourist attractions were easily accessible.

The Best Ever!

Janos and Jozsef are the best hosts! Janos communicated perfectly prior to our arrival and arranged a pick up for us at the BUD airport that was flawless. The apartment is perfectly equipped with everything needed, and the washer works perfectly. The bed is very comfortable and bedding is divine. We chose to explore Budapest with Janos as our guide on our first day in town and it was a great decision! Janos was a very informative and considerate guide. I would highly recommend getting your bearings for the rest of your time in the city, a tour with Janos is the way to go! Janos offered to cook a meal for us and Jozsef did much of the preparation while we were out exploring. Janos made a wonderful cheesecake the day before. It was a delicious authentic, Hungarian meal. It was well worth the money and a perfect ending to our first day. The apartment location is local to everything. Book with Janos and Jozsef. You will be happy you did!

Amazing Personal Attention

A Truly Wonderful Stay

This excellent property is situated on the 5th floor of a traditional Hungarian apartment block only a few minutes walk from The Danube and so close to all of the famous sites. The area has many bars and restaurants as well as several small independent shops where you can buy delicious bread and pastries, fruit and vegetables, cheeses, hams and sausages etc. Yet despite all of this, it is peaceful and quiet. The apartment itself is immaculately clean, very comfortable and has all you need for your stay. The main bedroom and living area is spacious, airy and comfortable; the kitchen is very well equipped and the elegant bathroom has a walk-in shower, toilet, washbasin and sink. There is also a single bedroom where we stored our cases. For us the very best part of our stay was meeting Janos, our host. He made our holiday so very special. On our first day, he arranged a taxi to meet us at the airport and then spent time with us explaining the excellent transport system and recommending restaurants and places to visit as well as the best times to visit them. We had already planned a day’s sightseeing with him which was so good that we asked him for a second day when we visited a beautiful village in the mountains, went bob-sleighing and then had a two hour boat trip on the Danube. Janos obviously loves his country and was so knowledgeable and informative, explaining his country’s history as well as life now. We loved spending the time with him. We will be back!

Overall great experience

Excellent location. Very quiet and easy to reach the Inner City and the Buda Castle. It was nice to be so close to the Danube and the Parliament. The apartment is very clean and well equipped. János and József are very warm and gracious hosts. They met us at the entrance and walked us through the building and the apartment. During our stay we had an opportunity to spend some time with János and József and had very interesting conversations. We had a great experience.

A taste of Hungary

I love these old apartments where you get to live like you're a Hungarian with a 100 years of history behind you. Lots of cafes for breakfast with 2 mins, plus an excellent restaurant, trams within 2 mins. The city has a great tram and tube network, use the go budapest app to get a 72 hour run around ticket. Margaret bridge within two minutes great for an evening stroll. Hosts are really helpful and will personally meet you which is nice. Overall a great stay.

A lot of warmth on cold days

We came to Budapest prior to a river cruise. We flew in at nearly midnight and were met with a driver who took us to the vrbo where Janos and Jozsef had taken care of every detail! The room was warm and inviting. It was clean and well stocked. They gave us so many wonderful recommendations and help throughout our entire stay. They made sure that we had a driver who brought us to the room and taxis when we needed it. They recommended restaurants to eat at and places to go while considering our budget and interests. They were thoughtful and attentive, and answered all of our questions thoroughly. It was wonderful to see their pride in their country, as well as desire to make our experience one not soon forgotten. I highly recommend staying here!

Within 2 mins walk to the Danube and 4 mins walk to a major tram route. In a historic district that is very walkable. The apartment has pleasant historic character with minor inconvenience (bathroom door a little hard to close). Excellent for a long stay. You'll appreciate the neighborhood.

We spent 5 nights in Budapest. Our hosts Janos and Josef were so fantastic. Janos was so informative and pointed us in the right direction for transport and local restaurants. The property was immaculately presented and Janos was available at any time for questions we had. I cannot recommend our stay highly enough. Will be back ond day.

Fantastic Location and Hosts

Before coming to Budapest, my husband and I arranged with Janos to have a driver pick us up at the train station. No problems finding our driver and Janos kept in touch with him to meet us at the apartment. This was worth the Euros to have transportation without knowing the city. We were very impressed at how attentive and gracious Janos and Jozeph were from the start and throughout our visit. All questions were answered with ease and familiarity of the area. On our arrival, we were provided with a map, were given the "lay of the land" and important sights to see. We chose not to rent a car, so Janos gave detailed bus and tram routes and numbers, which was very helpful and gave us more confidence going from the Pest to the Buda side and back. The metro system is also very efficient and easily traversed. Rick Steves travel books were provided for reference and Janos and Jozeph were featured in one of them. The apartment was just a few blocks and 5 minute walk to the tram and a block from the Danube. Janos also gave us a few of his favorite restaurants nearby. One was Kiskakukk. Delicious. Brios and Vegan Garden for breakfast. Both were very good. I don't believe we ever had a bad meal or coffee anywhere. Prima grocery stores are close by. The apartment was spotless and very roomy; bedroom was quiet and cozy, even with the windows open. The kitchen had all that was needed to make a meal and eat comfortably. The washing machine was in this area with a rack to dry your clothes. The following is just extra, but we found it helped. The day before leaving Budapest, we went to the Nyugati, the metropolitan train station to buy our tickets for Vienna. It was closer to the apartment to get a ticket than going to the Budapest-Keleti train station. On our day of departure, we were going to take several metro trains to go back to the train station. However, Jozeph suggested walking us to a bus stop nearby, that went directly to the long distance Budapest-Keleti train station. He being with us, left no room for doubt or any anxiety and gave such peace to start a long day. There is so much more to add but hopefully, this review relayed to any that wish to visit Budapest, to contact Janos. You will not be disappointed. If we should every return to this beautiful city, we would stay with these most knowledgeable and gracious hosts.

great location, lots of space

Well equipped kitchen, bathroom, comfortable bed, only minor point is there is probably not enough storage space for clothes for more than 2 people staying only 1-2 nights; I stayed 6 alone, was traveling for 2 weeks to 4 different cities for work and family reasons and there was just enough storage space to unpack my medium-large suitcase. I would highly recommend the property owner and manager - they provided good information and it is easy to use everything in the unit. Because it is 6th floor and generally elevator might not be reliable based on its age, I would not recommend the unit for people with less mobility.

Great place to stay at in Budapest

The property is exactly as advertised. It is clean, comfortable, well equipped. The air-conditioning works well. A quiet place, street noise is not noticeable at all. The owners, Janos and Jozsef, are extremely helpful with everything, and their advice on restaurants were right on. The area is nice, a number of good cafes and restaurants just minutes of walk away. Easy access to public transportation. Overall, highly recommended!

Great Place!

The hosts were great and very helpful --even before we arrived giving us suggestions. During our stay, we felt very well taken care of as they genuinely want you to enjoy their city and have a lot of helpful tips too. They are not intrusive, but are very willing to have you send a message if you need anything and they answer right away. The location is great being by the river. The only thing to note is this place is not for a rowdy group as it's a residential neighborhood. It was perfect for us though and we very much enjoyed our stay!

Perfect location and perfect hosts:)

The apartment is in very good neighborhood, Janos and Josef are the best hosts we ever had. They are keepinig the apartment spotless clean. It's equipped as you will stay for a long hollyday. The Poszany street is full with excellent restaurants and small caffees where you can have a great breakfast and god coffee. There are three good food shops, one of them is open 24 hours. The public transport is very good. Janos gave us precise informations about 7 day pass for the local transport system, including the boat lines. This will save you money and time. All attractions are on the walking distance. If you need a second home for your hollyday, this is the right place to go. Thank you Janos and Josef for the wonderful stay. We will come bach next year.
