Bed Bugs and Broken Toilets

Our room did not have a working air conditioner. My reservation was impossible to change even 2 days before hand. I did not get sheets upon check in. There were bed bugs and the bathrooms were dirty, the sink and toilet were broken the entire time I stayed. Hopefully the health department comes through soon. Until then god rest the souls who have to stay here.

Disapointing

No water - this was 2 weeks after my first visit with same problem. Bed linen threadbare and grey - very worn and unappetizing.

Don't go there!

Because of problems wit expedia I phoned the night before to check our reservations and the receptionist told me there was no booking for me and to call back later. She then said she'd made a mistake: I did have a reservation. I stressed 2 twin rooms. On arrival there was one double bedded room for me. She said I would have to pay more for twin rooms - both rooms paid for 2 months before. No towels in room and she didn't know where to find them. No water, neither hot or cold. The next morning the lift didn't work and the receptionist needed to be forced into helping to bring down the bags. We had chosen Ritz for its lifts - 2 elderly people with us. The breakfast room is only accessible on foot.

Rooms don't look anywhere as nice as the photos

I'm surprised I stayed in the same hotel after reading all the positive reviews. We booked a superior room for our 6 night in Buenos Aires it was in a disgraceful state, the sheets hadn't been washed properly the floor was dirty and their was a foul smell coming from the drain in the bathroom. The bathroom was disgusting and in a state of disrepair, the toilet was ancient and of course didn't flush properly. After complaining twice to reception the staff gave us an alternate room and were apologetic, we were given a quad share room which was a big improvement in comfort and cleanliness but it was still below par, considering what we paid, in my opinion. The building is very old and hasn't been refurbished in a long time which is quaint in some respects, but unsafe and unhygienic in others. Plumbing is old and corroded, electrical cabling coming out of the walls and there is mold every where. In our new room; the noise from the street was irritating, Wi Fi was very slow and kept dropping out, TV remote didn't work, towels weren't changed the whole week until we specifically requested it at reception, etc. The best thing about this hotel is the location (close to all the major attractions and transport) and the staff were friendly most of the time but there are plenty of other hotels near by for similar pricing. I definitely would not stay in this hotel again and I would not recommend booking a private room in this place.

Overall pleasing stay

Overall we had a pleasant stay. The room could be easily improved just with a coat of paint. The tub wasn't completely clean. Location is very handy.

Great location and value

Extremely helpful staff. Nice continental breakfast included. Our room was huge and clean. Bathroom clean as well. Great location - easy to get a taxi, walk to sights, near subte station. Would stay again.

Need a lot of improvement.....

This hotel is very well located in the center of the city, although the hotel for the amount of money they charge, it could improve a lot. Need to change bedspread, sheets and towels, pillows. Some of the bathrooms in the corridor needs better cleaning. The photos on Internet has nothing to do with real life.....

Nothing spectacular but decent

The hostel is loud. We could hear the slamming of the front door from our room. Very tiny kitchen but a delightful and airy common bar/living room area. Great central location and free internet. Breakfast is not spectacular (but in what hostel is it?). Large bathroom in the private double which was nice.

Good quality/price ratio

Overall good. The rooms could be cleaner and more comfortable, but for the price is good enough. The staff is very nice, helpful and quite nice. We had a great time watching a movie in the common area and having some food. Great place for the sole traveller or those travelling with friends.

Ritz hotel - needs customer friendly staff!!

Very uncomfortable with luggage into lobby - and no lift! No luggage service to rooms. Tv not in working order. No friendly assistance of any kind! Thanks but no thanks!

The rooms are large and not cold. The Wi-Fi is great. Many of the receptionists are multilingual. What is past off as breakfast is very poor.
