Chill Out - couples retreat on the lake - short drive to Seal Rocks

Escape to a rustic log cabin for couples seeking a peaceful and romantic nature getaway. Nestled in a rural setting with lake views, this cozy retreat is the perfect place to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy each other’s company away from the noise of everyday life. Short drive to Seal Rocks, and local beaches such as Boomerang Beach. Local general store, liquor shop, petrol station and take away cafe at Bungwahl.

Curl up together in front of the warm wood fire during the cooler months or enjoy the gentle lake breezes through large sliding doors and bi-fold windows (there are no flyscreens in place, other than the bedroom window). The bedroom includes a ceiling fan for those warmer nights, and there is a stand fan in the open plan lounge area.

The rustic kitchen, complete with stove and oven, allows you to cook meals together, while outside you’ll find grassed areas perfect for a quiet picnic, an outdoor seating area with BBQ for relaxed evening dinners, and the chance to enjoy a peaceful spot of fishing by the lake.
Surrounded by nature, this simple wooden cabin offers a slower pace of life — think quiet mornings with coffee overlooking the water, evenings by the fire, and star-filled skies above.

Please note: this is a rural, basic rustic cabin best suited to couples who appreciate nature and rustic simplicity rather than modern luxury. The bathroom features stall-style doors on the toilet and shower, and the setting is intentionally natural, relaxed, and full of rustic charm.

On country

Was lovely. The wide opening doors both sides gives a nice breeze. The purpose was to spend time ‘on country’. As an Aboriginal person of the Worimi people, I needed to reconnect with country and the lakes.

Peaceful location by the lake

The cottage is in a lovely position overlooking Myall Lake. The garden leads down to the lake which was our main reason for staying so we could put our kayaks into the water directly from the property. The bed was comfy and the linen was fresh and clean. There was also lots of hot water and the shower was great. The cottage, however, needs a good clean as it's very dusty and there are lots of cobwebs. It's been a very long time since I had hayfever but the dust set me off and I was sneezing all weekend! The windows are also badly in need of cleaning. The kitchen is poorly stocked - one small saucepan with a lid that was too big, one large saucepan, several frying pans and we would have been glad to have more crockery. The fridge is the size of a bar fridge - fortunately we had our large esky that we also used to keep things cool. There's a small freezer beside the fridge and both it and fridge need defrosting. We finally got the television going but it would have been helpful if there were a set of instructions near the TV to refer to. We were aware that there would be no Wi-Fi but noticed that there was a Wi-Fi modum so it's not made available to guests which is a shame as our mobile reception was poor. Overall we enjoyed our stay because of the peaceful location and the cottage felt cozy and had a lot of character.
