Wandering Willow – Private Stargazing Glamping Tent with Fire Pit & Open Skies

Escape to the woods. Breathe in the stillness. Look up—and feel small beneath the stars.
Tucked deep in the Missouri Ozarks, Sinking Creek Ranch offers a peaceful, private retreat across 277 acres of wild, untouched beauty. This land is for those who crave the quiet magic of nature, without sacrificing the comfort of a well-crafted stay. Whether you’re an avid adventurer or a tired soul seeking calm, our stargazing glamping tent provides a unique place to rest, reflect, and reconnect.

Our luxury bell tent is set apart from the rest of the world—cross a small footbridge over a gentle creek and step into your own private sanctuary beneath the trees. Designed for intimacy and solitude, this is not a row of glamping tents. It’s one peaceful tent tucked into the woods, where the only neighbors are songbirds, deer, and the sound of wind through the pines. The 19-foot Stella™ Stargazer Bell Tent features a plush king-size bed with soft bedding and warm layers, a clear-paneled roof so you can stargaze right from bed, and modern conveniences like a small refrigerator-freezer, microwave, and coffee machine. The tall sidewalls and high ceilings offer an open, airy feel, while the rugged canvas walls are waterproof and fire-resistant. Power is available for small electronics, and string lights provide just the right atmosphere after sunset.

Outside the tent, you’ll find your own fire pit, picnic table, and seating area—perfect for slow mornings with coffee, afternoon naps in the breeze, or evenings spent under open skies and crackling firelight. Firewood is available for purchase onsite, and our property is pet-friendly—we simply ask that you keep animals supervised to preserve the tranquility for all. A clean, well-maintained bathhouse with hot showers and restrooms is just a short walk from the tent.
Sinking Creek Ranch sits along the edge of the Mark Twain National Forest, giving you instant access to miles of beautiful, varied terrain. From your tent, you can ride your ATV or bring your horse and hit the trails right from camp—no trailers or transport needed. You can hike scenic ridges, explore seasonal streams, spot wildflowers and native wildlife, or visit Sinking Creek and the Current River for swimming, paddling, or a quiet place to fish. This is more than just a place to stay—it’s a place to roam, recharge, and remember what it feels like to be fully present.

We encourage guests to unplug while they’re here. There is no Wi-Fi, and while some guests may receive limited cell service, most use this as an opportunity to disconnect. Bring a book, light a fire, stare at the stars. For those who crave the feeling of being off the grid—but still want a warm bed, hot coffee, and private space to unwind—this is the balance you’ve been looking for.

This space is ideal for romantic escapes and anniversary getaways, solo retreats for writers or artists needing inspiration, outdoor-loving couples who want comfort without crowds, and travelers looking to combine glamping with adventure like ATV riding, hiking, or trail exploration. It’s also perfect for anyone longing for a simpler, quieter pace—if only for a weekend.

You’ll want to bring food, drinks, and snacks (the tent includes cold storage and a microwave), extra layers depending on the season since nights can be cool even in summer, and most importantly, your sense of wonder and love of nature.
We host only one glamping tent on the entire property, ensuring exclusive privacy and no noise from other guests. Friendly pets are welcome, though we ask that you refrain from bringing aggressive breeds or allowing pets to roam off-leash. Firewood is available for purchase on-site. We do not allow parties or loud music—this is a space for stillness and restoration.

At Sinking Creek Ranch, we believe that space is the greatest luxury—space to think, breathe, and feel fully alive again. Whether you fill your days with trail rides and swimming holes or spend them quietly beneath the stars, you’ll leave with more than memories. You’ll leave restored. Come experience the simplicity, beauty, and peace that 277 acres of wild Missouri can offer.

The owners met us at the bathhouse to take us back to our tent. The tent was elevated on a platform, it was very comfortable. The air conditioning kept our tent very cool. We were able to have coffee and warm muffins the next morning. Glamping, the way to camp!
