Nice place to stay for families

Nice clean family room, exactly as the pictures showed, perfectly functional room. Nice breakfast, served until 10 , which is nice if you’re a bit lazy in the morning! Great location, bang in the middle of town , 10 mins walk to the castle, and plenty of pubs and restaurants. The bar prices were quite steep (£7.35 a pint!!) but the cocktails were reasonably priced. There’s plenty of options in town. The jewel in the crown for this hotel is the pool area. It’s really wonderful, beautifully tiled, nice and big, we were there during half term and it wasn’t too busy. We really liked library aswell, very cosy with its big setees

Disappointed when we first arrived to be given a room with scaffolding outside the window which was noisy due to the wind, the lady at reception quickly obliged us with another room, so many thanks to her for a restful and enjoyable stay...

Hotel is lovely if a bit dated. Bed mattress had seen better days as when lying on it you hit the hard boards. Room was ok but extremely noisy as it must have been above the boiler room! Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The Celtic Royal staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is just a short walk to plenty of restaurants and pubs, and the castle itself. The property also had a nice pool and gym on site.

Stay was good, but the change for the breakfast was OTT. More hotels are doing £12.99 for a breakfast but the buffet was average and very over charged- disappointing.

Nice hotel

Nice hotel. Lovely team working there and good facilities, like pool and steam room/sauna. The main negative was the walls that are paper thin. I was woken up a number of times by people returning to their rooms late (3am) or leaving early (6:30am).

Lovely big old hotel in a great location. Great queensize bed. Bar and restaurant on site. Very good value for money. Lots of families with children as there's a swimming pool. Staff are very nice and helpful.
